QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Neutral
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
prior to 3rd trimester
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
I firmly believe that the federal government should not have a role in limiting a woman's right to make decisions about her own body. Healthcare, including decisions around abortion, should be made between a patient and their doctor without government interference. I would support federal legislation that protects and expands access to reproductive healthcare, ensuring that all individuals have the autonomy to make their own medical decisions. It's vital to uphold the principle that personal healthcare choices should remain private and free from political influence.
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
As a U.S. Senator, my priority is to ensure that hardworking Americans can retain more of their income and build wealth. One of the key actions I would take is to propose tax breaks for individuals and families making less than $100,000 a year. T
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Disagree
I understand the concerns about fairness when it comes to student loan forgiveness, but it's important to look at the bigger picture, especially in the context of the challenges we've faced during and after COVID-19. Millions of Americans are struggling under the weight of student debt, and for many, this debt is a significant barrier to achieving financial stability, buying a home, or starting a family. The pandemic has only exacerbated these struggles, and we need to be compassion.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
Yes
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
"Separation of church and state" means that religion should not interfere in government, and the two should remain distinct. This principle ensures that government decisions are made based on laws and public interest rather than religious beliefs, allowing for a fair and inclusive society for people of all faiths and beliefs.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
Businesses should follow the law and not discriminate against each other.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
never
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
A. & B. I believe every human being deserves healthcare and we should treat everyone the same.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
The relationship between the United States and Israel is indeed important, but it is equally crucial that we examine this relationship through the lens of our shared values of human rights, justice, and peace. While Israel is a key ally in a strategically important region, our support for any nation must align with our commitment to protecting the innocent and upholding the principles of fairness and humanity. The ongoing conflict in the region has led to significant suffering.
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
The decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention is driven by several complex factors, including changes in education, the impact of COVID-19, and evolving societal attitudes. One significant issue is the reduced access to ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) programs. Traditionally, ROTC has been a key pathway for military recruitment, offering scholarships and leadership training in exchange for service. However, the rise of private charter schools
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
1. **Asylum Seekers**: Those fleeing persecution, violence, or danger should be given the opportunity to seek asylum. The U.S. has a moral and legal obligation to protect those escaping legitimate threats to their lives. legal Immigrants: Individuals who go through the legal immigration process and meet the necessary requirements should be allowed to immigrate. This includes family members of U.S. citizens, individuals with work visas, and others who contribute to our economy and society

ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Choose not to answer
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To represent the people's choices!
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
no
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
yes Yes, I am justice-impacted, having been convicted of a felony. However, my experiences with the criminal justice system have been marked by misunderstanding and injustice. The system is flawed, often punishing individuals without fully understanding their circumstances or the complexities of their cases. My situation is a testament to the failures of a system that too often prioritizes punishment over rehabilitation and fairness. The criminal justice system is guilty!
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
To protect public safety while upholding the 2nd Amendment, we need sensible restrictions on gun ownership focused on mental health and violence prevention. Mental health awareness is key; we must identify and support individuals at risk before issues escalate. Red flag laws allow for temporary restrictions on gun ownership when someone poses a danger, helping prevent tragedies while respecting due process. At the same time, it's crucial to protect the right to bear arms on private property
