QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

In cases of an unwanted or crisis pregnancy, it is the school's responsibility to inform parents or guardians and provide the necessary support to ensure that the expectant mother can continue her education. Beyond this, any pregnancy, whether desired or not, is a family matter and not the school’s concern. The role of the school is to impart knowledge, cultivate students' ability to think critically, and ultimately empower them to contribute to the expansion of human understanding.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Agree

Teachers should be required to fulfill the terms of their contracts, just as school districts or independent institutions must uphold their commitments to employees. Ideally, school administrators would recognize any conflicts between the curriculum and a teacher's moral or religious beliefs, and assign a substitute for the relevant unit or lesson or take on the teaching responsibilities themselves.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

Discordant with the free enterprise system that marks American Greatness, public education has never had to compete; hence, schools are failing exponentially in meeting the demand for quality education that produces a self-sufficient, civic-minded individual who contributes meaningfully to society. Every child deserves the best education possible, as defined by their parents. Therefore, educational funding must follow the child, as it does in Arizona.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

Since most K-12 students are minors and still dependents, decisions regarding abortion, gender-affirming therapy, and other health-related matters should rest entirely with their parents. Planned Parenthood, along with many other public and private organizations, is accessible to families nationwide, typically within a reasonable driving distance.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

The absence of a consistent and uniform disciplinary policy, characterized by clear behavioral expectations and resolute, universal consequences for violations, has become an epidemic in public schools across the nation. Certainly, the policies implemented in response to COVID have contributed to the chaos. However, Social-Emotional Learning, often presented as “behavioral management” also plays a significant role. Its emphasis on “self-" and “autonomy” often undermines adult authority.

Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?

Yes

The intersection of current educational theories, curricula, policy, and classroom practices nationwide with the Marxist pedagogical model is a grave concern. We must ferret out all curricula, instruction, and policy that intend to indoctrinate children with anti-American ideas and morally objectionable philosophies. Taxpayers have the right and the responsibility to monitor how their money is spent and what is being taught in the schools they support with their taxes.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

I strongly advocate for the study of authentic materials and primary sources, rather than learning about them secondhand. Students in grades 7-12 should be reading the founding documents every year—directly, not through summaries, simplified editions, or secondary accounts— then analyzing, evaluating, and synthesizing the main ideas through diverse, grade-level activities. Additionally, cursive writing must be returned to the curriculum to ensure that students can read any historical document.

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Strongly Disagree

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

The elimination of the US DOE is, more than ever, an imperative. However, state control means funding will still come with mandated curriculum, instruction, and, most probably, its share of non-academic strings attached. Politicians, not teachers, would more than likely seek budget-friendly, one-size-fits-all programs to serve rural populations and urban areas alike, regardless of the demographic characteristics. For this reason, control of education needs to be local.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Language Arts; Mathematics; American History/Civics; Science; Foreign Language (including Latin); Information Technology; Physical Fitness; Art & Music; Personal Finance; Vocational Learning

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

Schools need to provide equal opportunities to every child.

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

(A) Opt-in.

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Agree

Every law-abiding citizen in the United States has the Constitutional right to bear arms. I prefer the presence of law enforcement in schools, but I respect my fellow citizens' 2nd Amendment right to arm themselves, as they deem necessary.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.

Strongly Disagree

In the event of a pandemic, district mandates should be restricted to decisions about opening or closing schools. If campuses are closed, the district must ensure alternative, effective methods of delivering instruction are provided.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am Roman Catholic.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Parents/guardians are responsible for teaching sexual education, at the age they deem appropriate for their children.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Human anatomy and the reproductive system are logical components of the biology curriculum. All other sexual education belongs in the family home.

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.

Strongly Agree

Parents have ample opportunities outside of school to introduce their children to drag shows & sexually explicit materials if they believe it supports a healthy upbringing. It’s not my role to dictate what other parents should value or believe for their children. However, activities & environments that can be considered sexual grooming have no place in taxpayer-funded public education. The school's sole responsibility is to equip students with the academic skills they need to succeed as adults.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Strongly Agree

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

Arizona State Law clearly states that all decisions regarding a child’s education and healthcare belong to the parents. However, the U.S. Constitution establishes the supremacy of federal law over state law, highlighting once again the risks associated with the ever-growing influence of the U.S. Department of Education.

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

Within the framework of K-12 public education, pro-transgender policies aim to "protect" a very small part of the population “0.6% transgender (Williams Institute) and 7% gay, lesbian, and bisexual (Pew). In reality, they diminish self-defense rights of the other 92.4% and ignore the physical safety of 47% of the total population, who are heterosexual, biological females (NCES).
