QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
An unwanted pregnancy can be very frightening for a young woman. I believe the school's role should be to support the young woman and her family in order for the pregnancy to continue, and the young woman's education to continue as well. The school can assist the parents and the young woman to find the resources they may need in order for a healthy pregnancy to be the result. The school should never keep information, such as a pregnancy, from a minor's parents.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I would like to see the federal government out of the education realm in its entirety. Every federal dollar educational entities take is tied to some 'string', and that 'string' is usually not in the best interest of students. I would like to see funding for public schools back at the local and state level only, with the dollars allocated following the student. I would like to see federally subsidized loans for college go away, as the original intent, has clearly not been fulfilled.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
I don't believe a teacher, staff member, or student should have to do anything which violates our God given rights which are protected by our Constitution. This extends to parents of minor children as well.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
Discussions of sex and sexuality have no business in our classrooms period; either by providers or teachers. Gender affirmation is damaging and destructive to minors, and promotes disordered thinking.
Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
Students perform best when expectations are clear, and they are followed. Chaotic classroom environments limit quality learning.
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?
Yes
All stakeholders in the school or district should have access to materials used. Whether a taxpayer has children in the public school system or not is immaterial, they are still paying for the resources through their taxes, and should have a say in what resources are used. Districts should also make it by far easier for all stakeholders to be able to view materials. I personally would prefer that online resources be very limited in their use.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
When you are a citizen of a country, you should be knowledgable of that country. The history of a country helps to shape the future of that country, and citizens should know all of it; the good, the bad, and the ugly. I believe history repeats itself when we don't learn from it. One can be a patriot of the greatest nation on earth while also acknowledging when and where the citizens of the country have fallen short of its ideals.
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Strongly Disagree
The way in which these three words are now used is abhorrent to me. I believe in diversity of thought. I believe in fairness and access to equal opportunity for all students. I believe that all people should be treated with dignity and respect. Not all ideas are good, and therefore, there are ideas which we should actually exclude.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
The US DOE has been the catalyst for the decline of education in this country. Educational expectations and outcomes should be administered at the state and local level to ensure outcomes that meet the needs of the local community.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
Language Arts and Grammar, Mathematics, Logic, Rhetoric, American History, Civics, Fitness, Art & Music, Foreign Language, Personal Finances. K: I would love to see returned to being developmentally appropriate. 1-3 should be primarily focused on establishing the foundations academically in reading, writing, and math upon which the older grades can build. I added some thinking skill development in my list, which is critical in my opinion in order for quality education to occur.
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
We as a country have a commitment to educating future generations, but have been failing miserably in the last few decades. Public education has really deteriorated, and many children would be stuck in underperforming neighborhood schools if the money didn't follow the child. I believe that parents are the first and best educators of their children, and must be able to make educational choices that best meet the needs of their children. This can actually happen if the money follows the child.
Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?
The American ideal is equal access to opportunity, not equal outcomes. Equity of outcomes always has the effect of lowering standards which is not good for anyone.
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
(A) Opt-In, and it should have to be on paper, not via technology.
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a non-denominational Christian. My value system is centered around scripture and the Word of God. I believe in absolute truth, not relative truth; it can't be truth if it isn't absolute. I believe that morality only exists in biblical foundations, and it should not be relative. If something is wrong in one setting, it should be viewed as wrong in every other setting as well. I believe that every human was made in the image of God, and therefore has a right to be treated with dignity and respect, even if I do not align with them ideologically.
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
I believe that parents are the first and best educators of their children, and therefore are responsible for teaching their children about sex and issues of sexuality. I can't put a specific age at which this education should occur, as every child and family is different. Sadly, because of the pushing of gender ideology which is pervasive, I think families find themselves in the position of having to introduce concepts earlier then they perhaps would other wise.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
I do not support the teaching of sex education in schools.
Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.
Strongly Agree
The evil of gender theory is truly abhorrent. We used to understand as a society that it was our job as adults to protect children. We used to understand that puberty was awkward, but it ends, and we as adults helped children get through it by speaking truth. As we have become more and more secular, we have lost this value system.
Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.
Strongly Agree
Children have the right to be protected from all things which mean them harm. We used to understand this as a culture.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.
Strongly Agree
Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.
Strongly Agree
Aside from overt abuse, yes, this again used to be understood by all in our society.
Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.
Strongly Agree
Parents have a right to know about absolutely everything that happens with their minor children on school campuses. All communication, electronic and hand written should be able to be viewed by parents.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Photo identification is necessary for so many different activities in our society, why would we not also expect that for participating in our most important right as a citizen of America?
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
The evil of gender ideology must be stopped in all its aspects. Men are men, and women are women, and there is a difference. It is not possible to change your sex, period. Humans who were born male should not have access to female spaces as it is physically and emotionally harmful for women; especially women in places such as prisons where they have no other place to go.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
I voted in these primaries and general elections:
2014 General Election 2016 Republican Primary 2016 General Election 2018 Republican Primary 2018 General Election 2020 Republican Primary 2020 General Election 2022 Republican Primary 2022 General Election
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
As society has become more immoral, I find my values haven't really changed, however, they will now be viewed as very conservative because the society has moved so far to the left. I personally believe I am conservative, and am willing to listen to and evaluate other viewpoints on some issues, not fundamental ones however.
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Agree
This has actually been done in a few school districts without incidence, so I think having armed teachers on premises who are trained is a solution to school shootings. I would like to see yearly training and shooting qualifications maintained by all armed staff of course. Schools are targets currently because perpetrators know they are soft targets, not likely to be able to 'fight back'.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.
Strongly Disagree
We should learn from the dismal response we had in COVID. Schools never should have been closed, period. I believe every person and family should be able to make their own risk assessment when confronted with challenging situations.
