QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
If requested by the student they should assist in the conversation with the parents. But at minimum they need to notify parents of the situation even if student does not want their assistance in the conversation. Otherwise the school has no jurisdiction. Family management is given to the parents by God (Ephesians 5 & 6) and schools are outside that sphere.
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
The 6th commandment (5th if you are Lutheran) is You shall not Murder. Murder is defined as the taking of innocent life. The operative word here is INNOCENT. As a true woman it is a blessing from God to be able to nurture a baby's development from conception to birth. A baby isn't a baby AFTER it comes out and takes its first breath. Pslams 139:13 says it best, "You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb."
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Competition in the market place is what ensures the best product at the best price. The prospect of owning private property is why everyone gets up and goes to work. We don't work hard so that our property can be turned over to someone else who is putting forth no effort. William Bradford discovered this when they first came to America they tried socialism and they all nearly died. It wasn't until the following year when they instituted private property that the people of the colony prospered.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
The Department of Education should be dissolved and the education returned to the states. There should be no federal government funding. Our government has 18 enumerated powers, education is not one of them. Read the Constitution Article 1 Section 8. Funding should come from the local governments/communities.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Absolutely not. Just because you work for a government agency DOES NOT MEAN you give up your first amendment rights. The Coach Kennedy case has just proven that. Separation of religion and state DOES NOT mean you cannot bring your faith with you to every corner of this nation and to every area of the public square. Forcing someone to do something against their will is Tyranny.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender transitioning providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
No. This is once again the God Given sphere of the family. School has no place for these agendas. Founders believed education was to be left to the family. When public education started there was a common morality and ideas about education among communities. Public schools taught that common education and moral law to its students. But through textbooks not teachers. Teachers were merely facilitators in the early years of public education.
Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
Discipline starts in the home. Once again the God Given Sphere of Family. Proverbs 22:6 "Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older they will not depart from it." Also Ephesians 6: 1-4. Clearly lays out the child-parent relationship. But when it is not happening in the home it falls on the rest of the community to handle. But I also think "misbehavior" has been GROSSLY taken out of context to the point that punishment is unreasonable and does not fit the infraction.
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?
Yes
Transparency is always the way. I also think, that there should be textbooks in schools. Chromebooks and powerpoints are a POOR substitute for a quality textbook. Not to mention students (and parents) have something they can look at when their child doesn't understand something. It allows them to help their child at home, sending them back to school more prepared the next day for the new lesson. We make our kids dependent on technology and then complain about the negative effects of screens.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
Not just the founding documents but they should also be studying the founders commentaries and debates on those documents. That is where is you gain understanding of what the Founders INTENDED when they wrote those documents and why. We cannot continue to use modern definitions for language they used. We must study things from their perspective to understand why they gave us the government they did. When you do that, American Patriotism is a natural result.
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Disagree
That is a loaded question. If you say you don't then you sound like a horrible person. But if you understand what the agenda is for DEI then you can't do anything but disagree. I of course support diverse populations you learn from each other. I support equal opportunity not equal outcomes. Inclusion for the sake of inclusion is not a good practice. Standards/qualifications exist for a reason. IF a person can meet all the qualifications as they are written then I support their inclusion.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
Absolutely!! Read the Constitution. Article 1 Section 8 lists the 18 enumerated powers given to the Federal Government. *Spoiler alert* education is not one of them. States and communities need to TAKE this power back. We did not give it to the feds constitutionally therefore, they should not be doing it.
If a member of the public flags (challenges) a book as inappropriate and the school board disagrees, should the board impose a moratorium on when the book can be challenged again? If yes, for how long?
No. Parents have the right to decide what their children should be exposed to. There should be a standard by which all books are held to. For example: books with pornographic images or language across the board should not be allowed in public schools. If parents WANT their kids to read these kinds of books than it should fall on the family to provide those books for their children (Family Sphere). It should not fall on the community to provide them.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
Math, Language Arts, Civics, American History, Personal Finance, Physical Fitness, Foreign Language, Information Technology, Art & Music, Science, Vocational Learning
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
Free Market principals work here too. Whenever you introduce competition into any market the end result is the best product for the best price. If we want the best teachers and the best schools then there needs to be competition.
Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?
Equal opportunity. No one should ever want equal outcomes. We are all individual with different God given gifts and talents. To make us carbon copies of each other would be a tragedy and something from a dystopian book. Failure is where we learn. It is where we thrive and persevere. It is where we are humbled. It is where character and individuality is built.
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
Family Sphere. Schools should not be teaching sex education. Anatomy/physiology is a different story
Who should make decisions about whether or not a book is appropriate for children? A) the elected school board members; B) an outsourced community committee
A combination of community members including school board members, parents, pastors, teachers, grandparents, tax payers, you name it. If this is something that is important to a person they should be allowed to participate in the decision.
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I have a Biblical World View. I believe the Bible is the instructional manual for life. I wasted too many years not reading it. But now that I have I can't stop. I am Christian. I believe in the Holy Trinity. I believe Jesus Christ died for my sins. I believe that we enter Heaven by God's grace not by our works. I believe faith is dead without action and I believe that we will all stand in judgement before the throne of God and we better be prepared to explain ourselves and repent. Knowing this I try my best to live a life that will require as little explanation as possible. I am human so I still make mistakes. But I thank God that he has such mercy and grace.
Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.
Strongly Agree
I am still flabbergasted that this is even a topic of discussion. Studies have shown most of the confusing parts of puberty clear up by the time children finish puberty. Adults, especially parents, should be a solid rock in the middle of this storm for their child to stand firm on. It is the parents' responsibility to speak truth to their children in love. The key here is in love. Children get all kinds of crazy ideas from the world around them. Its up to the adults to help them make sense of it
If sexual education is taught in schools, what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
This is the parent's job. Anatomy and physiology should be taught and I would say that 7th or 8th grade would be an appropriate age to introduce it. Kids are curious about their bodies from the time they are born. I have always answered my children's questions in an age appropriate way. I would say you could start anatomy and physiology much younger, but I am know how quickly things get distorted.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.
Strongly Agree
This is a Biblical concept. Government has no place in defining marriage their only job is to uphold what God already defined. Texas Supreme Court in Grigsby V. Reib 1913 - "Marriage was not originated by human law. When God created Eve, she was a wife to Adam; they then and there occupied the status of husband to wife and wife to husband. The truth is, that civil government has grown out of marriage, which created homes & population & society, from which government became necessary."
Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.
Strongly Agree
God Given Family Sphere. Government has no place in that.
Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.
Strongly Agree
Transparency. We are supposed to be working as a community for the best interest of the children.
School children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming including drag shows and explicit materials with pictures of sex acts and graphic language.
Strongly Agree
ABSOLUTELY! Our society is falling apart and we can't figure out why. Well its because we have deviated from what George Washington called our Indispensable supports of religion and morality. Our form of government was made for a religious and moral people. When you take those away civil society collapses. If you want to fix what is broken we have to teach religion and morality again. Textbooks in the founding era included the Bible and books that taught stories with morals to them.
Should schools be giving instruction on how to engage in sexual acts, the pleasures of sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity or should they instead focus on educating students about the science of reproduction?
No. No. No. No. Anatomy and physiology. Stick to what science actually knows about the human body and the reproductive cycle. Kids do NOT need their minds cluttered with all this other junk. This is NOT the school's job. It may be hard to believe, but God equipped all creatures (including humans) with the ability to figure this out all on their own at the APPROPRIAT TIME. Its almost like it is instinctual.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
No. We need photo ID to work, to drive, and many other things. Voting should be no different. This is how you prove you are who you say you are. If you are pulled over by the police you have to show them your ID. If something is important enough people will do what it takes to obtain it. When we place little value on our right to vote you have a population of people who don't vote. Election integrity is critical in a civil society.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
And Vice-Versa. Biological Women should not be allowed to occupy men's sports or biological men's spaces. We ARE PHYSIOLOGICALLY DIFFERENT! A man can't be a woman just because he wears a dress and make-up. And frankly I am offended at the idea that gender has been reduced to nothing more than a costume that one can put on. There is so much more to being a Man or a Woman than clothes and makeup.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I used to think I was moderate. But anymore, it is impossible for me to be anything but very conservative when you study the Bible and our Founding Fathers.
2ND AMENDMENT
The right to bear arms is fundamental and must be protected.
Strongly Agree
Inalienable God Given Right. Every animal in God's created world has the ability and the inclination of self preservation. They use whatever means necessary to protect themselves and their offspring as well as their "home." Why would humans be any different? Once again, God has defined this right, the Constitution enshrines it. Government's only job is to PROTECT IT.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.
Strongly Disagree
No. They do not have that right. We the People have not given the Government the power to do that. Anything other than that, is a power grab and will lead us down the road of tyranny.
