Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

I have been active in the pro-life movement for many years. During my time as County Commissioner the Board has approved funding for the Sparrow Clinic which helps women in crisis pregnancy situations, we have passed pro-life proclamations, approved a county policy against abortion referrals including a requirement that minors must have parental approval to receive medical advice, medications, or any other service that involves their health or welfare.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I take the position of former President Ronald Reagan, only taking the exception for the life of the mother. We must stop using abortion as a method of birth control.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

What is your position on the minimum wage?
I believe there is a place for the minimum wage to be in place as a floor. The reality is we need good paying jobs that pay a living wage, many of those jobs have been sent to other countries over the years. I agree with Trump's approach to reshore.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

1. We need to find ways to reduce government subsidy and incentive programs like RHID, stadium subsidies, battery plant subsidies, and data center incentives. 2. We need to have a study Commission to find ways to reduce unnecessary services or streamline services are being delivered. 3. We need to identify ways to incentivize behaviors that will help to reduce the need for people to be on social services. Great high paying jobs are a good alternative to welfare.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The State should not establish or reward one religion or religious belief. However, the government should reinforce the judeo-Christian ethic upon which much of western culture is built by honoring the moral codes of Christianity. The Common-law of our nation has historically recognized the importance of fair play and justice in the legal system, building a system of the rule of law upon which all citizens can depend upon equal justice under the law.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

There should be respect shown by the law for the sincerely held religious beliefs of citizens. Even when they have a minority opinion, for example in America we have always allowed the religious beliefs of the Quakers and Mennonites to be considered before using coercion and persecution, even unpopular sincerely held religious beliefs are protected in America.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
I believe that the private sector should help us to improve the health care system. We need to explore health care coops, medical practices that allow for more patient choice, non-traditional medical care options. The tax system can be used to help employers to afford to offer options to employees and keep yearly prices down. The more government becomes involved in health care systems the more waste, fraud, and abuse that will be found. We need a conservative alternative to offer.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The goal of the criminal justice system should be to punish guilty and evil, and to protect the innocent and good, first time non-violent offenders should be kept out of the prison system as much as possible. I am a member of both the adult and juvenile community corrections boards and science shows us that reducing interaction with criminals can keep first time offenders and young people from becoming involved in a life-time of crime. Churches and religious organizations must become involved.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Government should enhance age requirements and make pornographic sites inaccessible to young people below the age of 18. Child traffic laws and identification and citizenship documentation processes must be improved to prevent children from being abused.

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Gun ownership is a value that must be protected, I believe all gun owners should be properly trained to use a firearm, and those that are certified to have violent mental illness should be barred from getting guns.
