QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

This is a situation that I hope no child and family have to face but unfortunately this is something that happens. I feel most importantly that the sole decision making lies with the child and the family. In some situations a child might not have the parental leadership at home to help navigate the delicate process it would be to handle this issue. The school should only be there to assist in making sure the family has access to good resources to help take the steps needed for this process.

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I do feel life begins at conception and I feel as a pro-life individual we haven't demonstrated strongly enough what it means to be pro-life. Being pro-life doesn't mean that we care only about life in the womb. We care about life at all levels, from conception to our homeless veteran community, our elderly in the nursing home and more. In our country we celebrate and value life. We're all the unique creation of God who knows us, love us and created us for his own purpose.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

The free enterprise system along with private property is makes our country so special and unique. It's one of the many reasons so many individuals inspire to come to America. All across our country these business's from your local hometown hardware to local drug store to a mom and pop store are investing in our communities and helping their neighbors by providing jobs, goods and services. The free enterprise system shows that if you work hard and put in the time you can be successful.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

When it comes funding for public education we must make sure the dollars we're investing are truly going to education. Just in the State of North Carolina over forty percent of the budget goes to education. In our world today it is crucial that we make investments in our education for our children to have great opportunities in life. Investments in education need to have a positive impact on students and staff. We need to make sure our return on investment is a positive for impact for NC.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

If a teacher has a moral or religious belief that differs with curriculum the teacher shouldn't be forced to go against there beliefs. Just as a student shouldn't be forced to accept evolution as fact if their religious views tell them something different.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender transitioning providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

I feel those decisions need to be made between the child, the parents and God. Our Schools are no place for any conversation about gender transitioning. The focus of our schools need to be on making our instructional time the best for our students and investing in our public education.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

Consistent discipline is crucial in maintaining a good atmosphere for learning.

Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?

Yes

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

I feel it is essential for these documents to be introduced to all students. These documents are the bedrock of our great country and why we have the freedoms we have today.

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Strongly Disagree

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

This is a complex issue with many areas to talk about concerning education but I think it is one that should happen. I feel at the local level those individuals and communities know what is best for education in their perspective area. Our communities know what the needs are for our schools, students and staff locally.

If a member of the public flags (challenges) a book as inappropriate and the school board disagrees, should the board impose a moratorium on when the book can be challenged again? If yes, for how long?

The issue of book challenges is an issue for many schools across our country. We all have our opinions on this issue. Some type of structure would have to be in place to handle the book challenges so that school board meetings would not just become book challenge meetings. We have many many important issues to address in education and a school board needs to operate in an efficient manner. Yes, the book challenge is an important issue and feel each board must make the decisions best for them.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Vocational Learning, American History, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Language Arts, Science, Civics, Art and Music, Physical fitness, Foreign Language, information Technology.

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

When it comes to the education of a child I feel the decision is best made by God, the family and the child. I believe it is essential for families to have a choice.

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

Each student should have equality of opportunities. Regardless of a child's social standing or the child's family net-worth every child should have the opportunity to reach his/her goals. I want children to realize that if given the opportunities, with hard work and dedication you can achieve your goals and dreams in our country today.

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

Parental consent should be obtained to Opt-in or Opt-out there child.

Who should make decisions about whether or not a book is appropriate for children? A) the elected school board members; B) an outsourced community committee

I support having a district review board for book review but at the end of the day the final decision rest with the Board of Education. The Board must do it's due diligence in reviewing each book challenge and go in depth to review each book in an timely manner.

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe the Bible and I believe it is the word of God. The world is changing and technology has changed it at a rapid rate. There our some things that will not change no matter how much the world changes and that is Christ's love for us. I try my best to follow the great commission as stated in the book of Matthew Chapter 28:19-20, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

If sexual education is taught in schools, what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Everyone might differ a little on when the approiate age is for sex-education. I feel middle school is approiate time to start this conversation, I also strongly support a parents decision to opt there child in or out of the sexual education course.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a scared bond between man and woman as defined in the scriptures to us from God. The Bible teaches us marriage is a 100/100 deal, each partner give 100 percent devotion to the other. We're to love our spouse as Christ loved the church. When our marriages are Christ centered it produces an AGAPE love which can only be received through Christ.

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

I believe these decisions are best made by the family and not the government.

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have access at all times.

School children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming including drag shows and explicit materials with pictures of sex acts and graphic language.

Strongly Agree

In our schools today there should be no place for any type of grooming or explicit materials. The focus must remain on education. The focus must remain on the instructional time in the classroom. We need to put the focus on investing in our children for they're the next generation coming in after us and we need to pass it on better than we found it.

Should schools be giving instruction on how to engage in sexual acts, the pleasures of sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity or should they instead focus on educating students about the science of reproduction?

The focus must remain on the science of reproduction in a proper manner.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support voter ID.

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

2ND AMENDMENT

The right to bear arms is fundamental and must be protected.

Strongly Agree

A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed. I strongly support what is stated in the second Amendment.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.

Strongly Disagree

I feel the decisions of masks and vaccines are best decided by the family and the child.
