QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Disagree

As a man, I recognize that I don't have personal experience with decisions around abortion. I’ve never been in a situation where I needed to make that choice, so I approach the topic with humility. We already have taxpayer-funded programs for medical, dental, and other health-related services, so I’m not sure why abortion would be treated any differently. I support efforts to ensure that women have access to the medical care they need, including abortion, without unnecessary obstacles.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Disagree

As a man, I can only assume this refers to the day-after pill or something similar. While there are different kinds, I don't see why an in-person consultation with a doctor is necessary for something that's already available over the counter. I definitely don’t agree with gathering evidence on people’s reactions and outcomes – that feels invasive, and I don’t support it

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Elective abortions should be allowed under circumstances that respect a woman's right to make decisions about her own body and reproductive health. I believe in body autonomy, plain and simple. This goes beyond just a woman's right to choose or her healthcare – it's about everyone, at all times. I don't want the government telling anyone what to do with their body or taking measures to track what people do with their bodies. It's nobody else's business

Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?

NONE

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state means neither should control the other. It's not about government imposing religion or religion dominating government. It’s about ensuring no state religion, preserving the religious freedom our country was founded on. While our roots include Judeo-Christian values, we welcome and respect all religions, reflecting our commitment to freedom and diversity

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Neutral

This question seems unnecessary. If a company’s values don't align with yours, why work there? Religious and moral rights should be respected on both sides. Personally, I wouldn’t work for a company whose values clash with mine or that might impose its beliefs on me. Neutrality is key, as I believe it’s important to choose workplaces that match your own ethical and religious standards.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

The U.S. should combat global tyranny and support democratic growth but can't act as the world's police constantly. Our success partly stems from our Constitution, which has inspired many others. We must prevent atrocities and support emerging democracies, but it's crucial to engage respectfully and avoid a bully mentality.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious threats in military, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and global economic areas. Their aggressive policies challenge U.S. security and economic interests. We must enhance our defenses, safeguard our technologies, and collaborate with allies to counteract these threats and ensure global stability

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The ongoing conflict involving Israel has been complex and longstanding. While some politicians may receive substantial support from pro-Israel groups, I focus on representing our district’s needs. My stance is to let these longstanding issues be resolved by those directly involved. As a candidate who doesn’t accept campaign donations from lobbyists or PACs, I am free to prioritize our community's interests without external influence.

What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?

There’s been a shift in patriotism and respect for military service over the years. Unlike earlier eras when serving the country was highly valued, recent decades have seen less emphasis on military service and more politicization. Many recent presidents, like Obama, Biden, Trump, and Clinton, did not serve, reflecting this change. The military should remain nonpartisan and focused on national duty, not political agendas

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I support body autonomy and parental choice. Vaccines are a personal decision. If you are vaccinated, you are protected. Don't worry about what others do. Respecting personal choices. I think problems arise when others infringe on that body autonomy.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

This is a complex issue. While I see some alignment with options B and C, I view healthcare as a business driven by profit, which impacts its priorities. We should focus on preventive care and reducing harmful chemicals in our food to promote overall health. This topic is multifaceted, and a comprehensive answer requires more space and consideration. My response here is brief, but I believe in addressing these systemic issues to improve health outcomes effectively

ECONOMY

What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?

I would advocate for tax reforms that prioritize middle-class families and small business owners, ensuring they aren't overburdened by high taxes. I’d support efforts to reduce government spending where it’s inefficient.

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Agree

Not everyone needs to go to college. It’s one of many paths to success and should be seen as an investment, not a right. You can pursue trade schools or join the military, which offers tuition assistance and valuable skills. Trades like plumbing and electrical work offer stable, well-paying jobs without a degree. College isn’t the only option, and people should choose the path that best fits their goals and talents.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

Yes

While environmental and social issues are important, public investments should prioritize long-term financial returns and fiscal responsibility. However, considering ESG factors can help identify sustainable opportunities and mitigate risks. It's about balancing both financial stability and responsible stewardship of public funds to ensure investments benefit future generations without compromising current needs.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

The debate over secure borders has become overly politicized. It’s not a complex issue—securing our borders is essential. This should be about practical policy, not political maneuvering. We need clear, secure borders to ensure we know who is entering our country.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Immigration to the United States should be based on a balanced approach that considers various factors: family reunification, employment-based immigration, refugees and asylum seekers, diversity, and education. Policies should ensure that immigration is managed effectively, promotes security, and meets both economic and humanitarian needs.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Disagree

These proposals fail to address the needs of families with limited resources who cannot easily relocate or commute to better schools. Rather than focusing on broad and impractical solutions like school choice, we should prioritize investing in and improving all public schools. By ensuring that every school receives adequate funding, resources, and support, we can address the root issues and provide every student with a high-quality education.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Disagree

The Department of Education helps establish and maintain national standards for education, ensuring a consistent quality of education across states. This helps in closing achievement gaps and ensuring that all students, regardless of where they live, have access to a high-quality education.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

VALUES

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

The term "legal union" involves government, which conflicts with the separation of church and state. People argue about marriage, but ultimately, it's a legal issue, not a religious one. My view is that the term doesn't matter—whether it's called marriage or something else, it's about legal rights. I support the rights of individuals, including my aunt, who is married to a woman. Debates over this often create unnecessary division and conflict, rather than focusing on personal and legal rights.

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Agree

As a parent, I believe I should have control over my children’s upbringing until they are 18 and be involved in their education and decisions. While I don’t have experience with gender ideology issues, I think significant changes should wait until adulthood. At 18, individuals can make their own choices. It’s crucial to respect parental rights and avoid creating divisions while ensuring children’s well-being and proper education.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used for essential services that benefit the public as a whole. Gender transition services are personal medical decisions and should be covered by individual insurance or private means, not taxpayer dollars. Public funds should focus on universal needs like education, healthcare, and infrastructure. While individual medical choices are important, such services should be funded through private or specialized programs rather than general taxpayer resources.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My personal spiritual beliefs and values are private matters. I hold deep respect for the sanctity of life and believe in the principles enshrined in the Constitution, which I view as divinely inspired. Whether I am religious or not does not impact my ability to be an effective leader. This question is inappropriate, as it delves into personal beliefs that are irrelevant to my qualifications and commitment to serving all constituents.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

Voters should be able to vote with proper registration but requiring a photo ID is reasonable, as it's commonly needed for various transactions like opening a bank account or buying a car. If someone has these documents, obtaining a photo ID shouldn't be a burden. Ensuring secure and properly maintained elections is crucial to our democratic process. This issue shouldn't be politicized; it's about upholding the principle of one person, one vote.

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College is important for protecting federalism, encouraging broad campaigning, and preventing regional dominance. However, I believe the system could be improved by giving smaller states a slightly larger influence to balance the current focus on swing states. Despite its flaws, the Electoral College has worked well and I strongly oppose its abolition. It ensures that diverse regional interests are considered in presidential elections.

EQUALITY

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
