Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I oppose elective abortion or abortion on demand, which are merely another form or birth control. Pregnancies resulting from rape or incest, situations when the life of the mother is in serious jeopardy, and circumstances when the baby will not survive beyond birth have to be given consideration; however, any resulting exceptions under the law should be narrowly tailored.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
