RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

While I believe in the sanctity of life from conception to natural death, I recognize that there are complex and challenging situations where difficult decisions must be made. Elective abortion should be allowed under circumstances where the health and well-being of the mother are at serious risk, including situations of rape, incest, or severe fetal anomalies that would result in non-viable life. These exceptions acknowledge the need to consider the physical and mental health of the mother.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

I believe in protecting life from conception to natural death, which leads me to oppose the use of chemical abortion drugs. These drugs can terminate pregnancies at very early stages, and I feel that this contradicts my commitment to the sanctity of life.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

Given my belief in protecting life from conception to natural death, I support funding for Planned Parenthood's essential health services that do not involve abortion, such as cancer screenings, STD testing, contraception, and general health care.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

While I empathize deeply with those suffering from terminal illnesses and the desire to end their suffering, I believe that our focus should be on providing comprehensive palliative care, pain management, and emotional support to ensure that patients can live their remaining time with dignity and comfort. Rather than supporting 'aid in dying' laws, I advocate for improving our healthcare system's ability to address end-of-life care in a way that respects the inherent value of every human life.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise and private property are cornerstones of a prosperous and free society. These principles are non-negotiable because they empower individuals to innovate, create wealth, and pursue their own paths to success. Private property rights ensure that individuals can securely own and manage their resources, which is essential for personal freedom and economic stability.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I believe that a fair wage is essential for ensuring that workers can meet their basic needs and maintain a decent standard of living. However, it's important to balance this with the realities faced by businesses, especially small businesses.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

Yes

It is also crucial to ensure that investments are made based on sound financial principles and that they deliver the best possible returns for the public. Therefore, ESG considerations should be integrated alongside traditional financial metrics to create a holistic investment strategy. Examples of when I would support ESG would be regarding (Environment) waste management and water usage, (Social) product safety and quality, and (Governance) transparency and accountability.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

I believe that governments should respect the freedom of religion and not close churches, as this is a fundamental right protected by the constitution. However, churches, like all organizations, should be held accountable when they violate laws or regulations. If a church is found to be in violation of certain rules, such as engaging in political activities that are prohibited for tax-exempt organizations, it is appropriate for the government to revoke their tax-exempt status.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

I believe in the importance of respecting individuals' and businesses' moral and religious beliefs. Requiring them to provide services that directly violate these beliefs undermines the principles of freedom of conscience and religious liberty, which are foundational to our society. The free market will help direct the course of their business and decisions.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B: I believe in a balanced approach to healthcare that includes government-funded insurance for those who qualify, while also preserving robust private healthcare options. This ensures that everyone has access to essential healthcare services, regardless of their income or employment status, while also maintaining the benefits of competition and innovation provided by the private sector.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None should mandate vaccinations. Individuals should have the right to make their own healthcare decisions without coercion. However, it is also essential to recognize the rights of others to protect their health and safety.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The United States' relationship with Israel is crucial for geopolitical stability, shared values, technological and economic advancements, and ongoing peace efforts in the Middle East; however, more should be done to ensure our money/weapons are not used to murder children/civilians.

IMMIGRATION

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Yes. In those circumstances where skilled workers and professionals who can contribute to the U.S. economy want to immigrate through an established process. Individuals in industries where there is a shortage of domestic talent, as well as entrepreneurs who can create jobs and drive innovation are some examples.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Parents are best positioned to understand their child's specific needs, learning styles, and interests. Providing them with the flexibility to select the most suitable educational path ensures that children receive an education that maximizes their individual potential. Additionally, this system can help address disparities in educational opportunities. I support public education as the primary route for all children to learn and be educated.

VALUES

Children have the right to be protected from sexually explicit materials in publicly funded libraries, including school libraries.

Strongly Agree

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from harm, including from gender ideology and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Disagree

I believe that marriage is a deeply personal and cultural institution that the government should not manage. Marriage, at its core, is a private contract between individuals and God.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Christ is my savior. I am non-denominational having been raised Catholic. I believe in the authority of the Bible- it is the inspired word of God and a guide for faith and practice. My faith is centered on the teachings of Jesus, the significance of His death and resurrection for salvation, and the importance of living a life that reflects Christian values such as love, compassion, and forgiveness.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Neutral

While the idea of a national popular vote has merits in promoting direct democracy, I am concerned that it could diminish the representation and influence of less populous states like Wyoming.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism can be considered a threat to domestic security in the United States to some extent. While it may not be the sole or primary threat, it certainly contributes to social unrest, division, and violence, which can undermine national stability.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

C. Stricter environmental laws can undermine U.S. energy independence and deter the development of reliable electricity sources by placing heavy regulations on domestic energy production. These laws often increase costs and limit the exploration and utilization of traditional energy sources like oil, natural gas, and coal, which are currently the backbone of our energy infrastructure. By restricting these reliable sources, we risk becoming more dependent on foreign energy.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Natural resources that contribute significantly to the nation’s energy supply, like coal and natural gas, have long been reliable sources of energy, providing consistent and affordable electricity to millions of Americans.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

I've never engaged in, been accused, or penalized for sexual misconduct.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

I believe the general purpose of government is to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of its citizens, ensure national security, and maintain order through the enforcement of laws. Government should create a stable environment where individuals can pursue their own goals and aspirations without undue interference. This includes protecting property rights, enforcing contracts, and providing essential services that cannot be effectively managed by the private sector.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I have conservative values but I amopen to pragmatic solutions and some government intervention when necessary. I support a balanced approach to economic policies, including tax reductions and reasonable government spending. I value national security. I am open to certain progressive social policies if they align with personal responsibility and economic efficiency.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

Please express your views on the 2nd Amendment.

I believe that robust Second Amendment rights are essential for preserving individual liberty and ensuring personal protection. The right to bear arms is a fundamental aspect of our Constitution that empowers citizens to defend themselves, their families, and their property. Additionally, it serves as a critical check on potential government overreach and tyranny. By upholding and protecting these rights, we maintain a crucial component of our nation's freedom and security.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Neutral

I support the production of hemp due to its numerous economic and environmental benefits. Hemp is a versatile crop that can be used for a wide range of products, including textiles, construction materials, and biofuels. Its cultivation can provide a significant boost to the agricultural sector, create jobs, and promote sustainable farming practices. Regarding the use of THC, I advocate for a balanced approach that allows limited, regulated use especially for medical reasons.
