QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
This question poses a stance for arguments over the right to control a woman's life and body. Stop believing the lies that women are eagerly getting themselves in these "positions" to then run to an abortion center. Abortions are painful; and most happen due to health concerns for the mother, non-viable fetus, development issues (no heart growing), incest, or rape.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Agree
As long as the gathered evidence does not violate HIPPA. Patients should be issued a case number with no name attached so that they can report reactions and outcomes. This is not meant to track patients but to understand the side effects. I am against a registry for this.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
We send billions overseas in support, we fund over 750 military bases around the world. We can start supporting our people who seek medical care. In fact, men make up 13% of Planned Parenthood's patients across the country.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
Although I have never suffered long-term depression, suicidal ideation, or the unfortunate event of losing motor skills I have known others that do. Deciding to end one's life is not a small feat. With the law in place having mental health checks, and meeting with professionals before being assisted is important. If we offer it as an option we may save more lives than just having a suicide hotline.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Disagree
Free enterprise has caused the class war. I have gone from homeless to being a small business and homeowner. My struggles have not changed, the game is rigged. Unless you own a large corporation, several properties, and have unchecked access to insider incentives then I bet you are suffering in some way. Overworked? Overtaxed? Overcharged? Each adult should have no more than two private properties, we should have gouging laws, millionaire revenue caps, and no stock buybacks.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
To live in WA, studies show, that the minimum wage (mw) should be $35/hr. Without gouging laws, companies raise prices to cover the mw going up. That needs to stop. With universal free healthcare, mw could be $25/hr.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
Yes
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
I feel churches should have requirements of service. Meaning they pay tahttps://quest.ivotxes, or they do God's work: they build homes, teach people to garden, and provide skills to be sustainable without relying on the government. If a church cannot show continuous Godly work then they are talk and not action and should not be collecting tithes. If a church has more than one report of sexual assault or misconduct then they have a problem and need to close their doors. That's the circumstances.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
If a company sells items or provides certain services to the general public and someone comes into the business and asks for the service that is available to the general public then the service should be provided. i.e. 2014 Hitching Post in CDA ID was wrong to not offer a public service that discriminated against a certain class blaming it on religious beliefs. If a company is being asked to provide catering with pork but they never do because of their beliefs then they shouldn't have to.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
We send billions overseas to fund wars. We can reroute that and provide universal healthcare for all.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I am not an epidemiologist but have learned that vaccines that are required for school are necessary to keep the kids safe. The circumstance: If the vaccine is proving to stop the spread of something deadly like measles.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Neutral
Do we not pose serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to China? We have over 800 military bases in more than 70 countries worldwide. We spend roughly 135 billion/yr to maintain them; we are the bigger threat. We can actively keep ourselves safe while monitoring for ill will against the United States.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
It should not be. The United States should have a strong, important, healthy relationship with the American people. Our congress members get paid millions (see opensecrets.org) to be the puppets for Israel.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Disagree
Most immigrants cross at the border, seeking asylum. ICE detains them and they go through a rigorous process and become documented. The news likes to fear-monger folks. If the U.S. feels we should then we can shut down the foreign U.S. bases and focus on our country not sitting in others.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Agree
$15,633 in FY 2022, per the census, was what each public school got from state funding per child. Washington Private School's average tuition cost of $13,186/yr in 2024. Yes, the dollars should allow children to attend private school or cover the items needed for homeschooling, including field trips.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Neutral
I agree we should protect children from abuse, grooming, and physical harm. Gender ideology refers to attitudes regarding the appropriate roles, rights, and responsibilities of women and men. Let children be children, we need to stop using them for political fear-mongering. Let them learn and let them play. Boys can play with dolls, Girls can play with construction toys.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Neutral
In the State of WA, "children" of the age of 16 (teenager) do not need to inform their parents of the medical records/choice. From the age of 11 and under parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children. Age 12-15 the child has to be involved in the decision making and both parents and child have to agree. When the child turns 16 they are in control of decisions.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Agree
I believe in free universal healthcare and this would fall under healthcare. Remember how many billions we spend to help other countries, run all those military bases? Wouldn't it be nice not to have a large chunk of your paycheck having medical insurance deductions? Free Universal Healthcare for ALL
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Disagree
Not for all. Remember one person's beliefs may not be another's. Would you want to be controlled or forced to do something you don't believe in? Why are we concerned about who others love? "Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall (Romans 14:4)." I like to remind myself that I am no one's master therefore I should not hold others to my view of life, and be curious how others live theirs.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised around my Pentecostal Grandfather and studied the Bible regularly. When I became an adult I had to undergo several years of therapy for Religious Trauma, deconstructing hard-wired beliefs that were not mine. I would consider myself a spiritualist. I spend time bettering myself, by reading, gardening, going on hikes, journaling, lighting candles, and meditating. I think everyone should have the same rights, to exist, to be safe, to not dictate others, and to learn from others without the need to conform them. I feel that we grow when curiosity is present and we fight when differences are picked apart. This is a big world, why try to control others?
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
They should be able to use a temporary ID that the state gives them if they renewed it or recently got one before election day.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Agree
As of April 15, 2024, the National Popular Vote bill has been enacted into law in 18 jurisdictions possessing 209 electoral votes, including 6 small jurisdictions (District of Columbia, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont), 12 states (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Washington).
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is a tool used to separate people. It exists to harm and control others who are not "like a certain type". Racism is wrong.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Agree
Critical race theory, intellectual and social movement, and framework of legal analysis based on the premise that race is a socially constructed category that is used to oppress and exploit people of color. Which is why we have to have the EEOC.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Disagree
Again with gender ideology. If a biological male is female presenting (Trans) then they should be allowed to use the spaces they identify as. In most airports, some big corporation stores, and rest stops have family or co-ed bathrooms. If a biological female is male presenting they should be allowed to use the spaces they identify with. If you are going to complain about projecting females, then you should protect all females even trans ones; right?
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Hydropower, or hydroelectric power, is one of the oldest and largest sources of renewable energy, which uses the natural flow of moving water to generate electricity.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The general purpose has been lost to billionaires and large coropations. The general purpose of government is to stand up for the people, to protect from the greed and harm caused by not defending the safety of the people. Being compassionate, understanding, and a voice for the people. Holding accountable those big corporations that harm our citizens or land.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Liberal
Green Party
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Agree
In 2023 Spokesman.com reported the 2024 budget for Spokane WA Police Department is $96 Million with 464 officers employed. Our streets are filled with homeless individuals. Drive down Divison St. to see how well funding the wrong departments work. We need to redirect at least a 1/3 of the budget to actually solve the problems we see.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
There is no need for people to have assault rifles or street sweepers. I think gun purchases, even at a trade show or from a friend should have to register the serial number. If a crime is committed it will be easier to identify. If you don't have notorious plans for the gun you own then why fight registering it? The government isn't going to come to take the guns away. If the government was going to do that they wouldn't look at a registry they would search every home as they know people lie.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
No
We do not pay them enough to teach let alone give their life in a gunfight or harm a child in the process of saving some. What we should be doing is teaching gun safety, teaching empathy, and have student behavior therapists available when a child feels picked on or bullied. We are taking reactive stances while we need to be more proactive. Pay teachers more, and hire younger teachers so they can relate to today's youth.
