RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
A woman should have control over her own body.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Neutral
I agree that they should meet essential safety standards. With the prevalence of telehealth for other medications I do not see an in-person consultation as necessary, especially with the lack of in-person options available to rural and under served communities
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Disagree
Providing abortion as an option should not preclude a medical provider from receiving funds from public sources.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Agree
I have friends and family that have made it clear that they do not want to suffer in their final days, and I want to be able to respect their wishes and to help them avoid unnecessary suffering.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Disagree
There are examples around the world of productive economic systems that have limits on both free enterprise and on property rights.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
The minimum wage should be set such that a person working 40hrs a week at that wage can afford the basic human essentials, food, shelter, and healthcare.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
Yes
Public money should be used to improve the lives of the public. Making investment choices that reward ethical corporate behavior encourages corporations to be better members of the community.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
If the church was physically endangering members of the greater community within which it resides.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Agree
In broad terms I agree, however there have been cases where the government has been right to intervein, for example businesses refusing to service customers based on bigotry.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Healthcare is a basic human need and should be available to all.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
If the vaccination would improve the wellbeing of the community or if it would improve the efficacy of the school or employer to perform their mission.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Neutral
We should have more judges and administrators able to process immigrants attempting to enter the country legally.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Disagree
Public school dollars should support public schools. If parent's wish to pursue another option, that should be supported but it should not be funded by the public.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
I agree that children need to be protected from abuse, and should be encouraged to seek their own identity regardless of any perceived gender constructs. I agree that they should be protected from grooming and other forms of predation. I agree that they should be protected from unwanted body modification and mutilation.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Agree
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Agree
This would fall under public healthcare.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Disagree
Marriage can certainly be that for some people in some cultures. However, it also remains a legal status the terms of which are under the authority of the government.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe that all life is unique and precious and that it is our duty to spend the time we have working to make the world better for those that we can.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Agree
Washington's vote by mail system has greatly reduced the cost of the election process, while simultaneously providing people with a comfortable place and time to vote with all available research tools at hand.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Agree
This would be an effective work around to ensure that minority voting blocks do not have disproportionate sway on the presidential election.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes - The US has seen cases of race based violence and domestic terrorism throughout it's history and today.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Disagree
CRT is an academic and legal framework that denotes that systemic racism is part of American society — from education and housing to employment and healthcare. Critical Race Theory recognizes that racism is more than the result of individual bias and prejudice. There have been policies put in place in the US that have been rooted in racism, that does not mean that the institutions in the US are fundamentally racist. It does mean we can identify these root causes and work to fix them.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
Climate change is real and the effort to combat it is creating jobs and aiding the economy.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
No single source is perfect. I support additional research and development into geothermal energy production, but until that technology becomes available at scale we should continue to build out our wind, solar, and nuclear power infrastructure.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The purpose of a government is to ensure the welfare and security of its citizens and to provide a framework for the orderly functioning of society
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Liberal
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Disagree
I support the development and improvement of community programs to address the root causes of the issues that are currently putting a strain on police departments. I also support the use of existing police funds on additional training and staff vs militaristic equipment.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Gun ownership is a right, but background checks, cooling off periods, and gun safety education are prudent to reduce the instances of guns being sold to mentally and emotionally unstable individuals. Gun accessibility should be further restricted in urban settings where they are most likely to cause harm to others.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
No
In my conversations with teachers, this is not something they want. It changes the learning dynamic, puts additional stress on the teacher, and makes the school a more dangerous place.
