RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Abortion rights are already secured by law in Washington State. The People have spoken and I respect the People's decision. I personally believe that life and family should always be affirmed. Informed consent should be made mandatory. No procedure should allowed beyond the viability of life outside the womb.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Our pharmaceutical and medical industries are treating pregnancy as a disease. It is distressing that human life can be so marginalized and commoditized that a life can be taken without reflection. For this reason, I find the use of over-the-counter abortion drugs objectionable. The fact that one can provide the technology should not compel one to provide the technology. There will always be a cost.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Planned Parenthood is an overtly political organization. With its actions and support of abortion on demand and late-term procedures clearly shows it is not a health care advocate. Founded by an affirmed eugenicist and racist, Margaret Sanger, it is no coincidence that the majority of its "clinics" are located in Black communities.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
Informed consent should be made mandatory. It is distressing to see the numbers manifested by various government decisions to legalize state assisted suicide. "Aid in dying", by its irreversible nature, opens itself to abuse.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
The investment in private property and ownership is life sustaining and affirming. Private property rights and liberty are integrally linked. All threat to private property by the state should be resisted.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Minimum wage is an overtly political manipulation of an economic vector placing the burdens business to conform. The ratcheting effect of wage increases escalates the response of increased prices which ultimately undermines its purpose.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
ESG is a subjective and politically driven decision that overtly influences the management of the enterprise away from its intended ethical responsibility for rational stewardship of the shareholder investment. Thus, ESG guidelines are subjective. Regulatory controls should be limited and exclusively directed to safety and security of the consumer and the investor.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Liberty is not dependent on the perception or bias of others. An individual’s choice on where and with whom business is conducted is the prerogative of the service provider. Any act that stands in opposition is compelled speech and action.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
My view is that some basic level of health care should be provided as a government service. However, safeguards should be set in place to prevent abuse and assure proper care. The consumer's rights should be honored and preserved, i.e. informed consent.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Pharma has lobbied vaccinations to become subsidized and profit-driven at the cost of safety. Safety protocols for approval are suspect as documented by many studies. CDC/FDA should prioritize the public's safety over promotion of the industry.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
The existential threat to the US is internal to our borders. The Chinese Communist Party is indeed a threat. But, they cannot do it without complicit actions of those residing within. The CCP exploits these domestic self-serving threats in our government and corporations with their global reach to undermine our fundamental rights.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
The relationship between Israel and US and Israel is important. However, as in any relationship, trust can be only given where trust is afforded. There are interests unique to each side of the relationship that must be reaffirmed and honored in order to continue to assure the bond. Means to deal with these threats cannot be exclusively military. Arming both sides of conflicts undermine moral authority. The continued foreign entanglements of the US are destroying our economic viability.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Our open and uncontrolled borders are a human tragedy. Drug cartels are taking advantage with drug and human trafficking. Continuing this way will assuredly bring social and economic catastrophe. A country with no borders and no expressed interest in protecting its citizens unfair to its citizens. Something is distressingly wrong with moving newcomers ahead of our veterans, aged and poor. The economic gap between rich and poor is widening. We are by degrees becoming a dystopian feudal state.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
Public schools are failing in their mission to promote agency and educate. "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion" is a secular religion pushing policies that are not life-affirming. Families seeking other means in educating their children (our future) should be affirmed. Disaffected families should not be forced to subsidize substandard services. Teacher's unions are overtly political. They have become little more than a fund-raising arm for the Democrat Party and its progressive agenda.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
It is neither caring or fair to present adult concepts and ideas to children. Children's minds are still forming without prior benefit of life experience or the perspectives that form good judgement.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
The family is the most immediate form of government. Families should be supported and empowered to make life-affirming decisions.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Gender and sex are synonymous. To break this science-based link is medical and psychological malpractice. Like previous medical interventions that have proven to be not only ineffective but harmful (lobotomies, false-memories of abuse, etc), gender affirming care is a false promise. Gender affirming care creates life-long customers for the pharmaceutical companies and surgeons.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Neutral
Our Supreme Court has previously judged the union of same-sex marriage be legally recognized and legally respected. Washington State law is the same. I anticipate no public policy movement that will counter this. As such, there is no value in presenting my personal views on the subject. That said, I may not agree with people's choices but I will always respect others as equals.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Too often the presentation of one's beliefs and values as a public display are contrived and an illusory trick. I say: "Know them by their fruits." Voters will know me by my actions.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
The integrity of a country's elections is paramount to assuring representative government. There is ZERO rationale for a voter to not have verification of identity.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
Our country was founded on the ideals of localized government. In order of influence and effect: family, community, state, nation. For the size of this country, the shared interests of the nation should be minimal but relevant to shared security, economic, and civil bonds. National Popular vote will promote the cultural interests of the most densely populated regions over all others. This is an overt threat of the cities ruling over the countryside.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
It is. However, the popular conception of racism is that racism is the exclusive domain of Whites. Until we recognize "All are created equal" and that we all are bound by our common humanity, we will divide and fall. It time to break the fever of racial enmity and rise to intellectual integrity and individual agency.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Critical theory is just that: a theory based on the Marxist principle of power: the oppressed vs the oppressor. It always and necessarily about power. It is divisive, destructive and crippling.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
There are only two genders, two sexes. To argue any differently is the denial of science. Woman is the target for elimination if this trend continues. Women deserve their own spaces of safety and security. Women have come too far to be marginalized and replaced.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
None of the above capture the existential threat that lies behind the current Climate Agenda. Public policy is running faster than the science. The agenda is not driven by environmentalism. Decarbonization will destroy our way of life while also severely impacting the environment. Wind and solar farms are displacing forests and arable lands needed for food. Further, their effect on wildlife is devastating. Voices urging caution are being silenced and excluded from the discussion.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
In Washington State, the cleanest renewable source is hydroelectric. It must be preserved and improved to protect our migratory species. Threats to fish are found in the coastal habitats and large-scale factory fishing . Beyond this, it's nuclear.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our prosperity.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Conservatism is the negation of ideology; it is a state mind that embraces permanent things over chaos. There exists an enduring moral order. Human nature is constant and moral truths are permanent. We should be chastened by the principle of imperfectability. I am persuaded that freedom and property are integrally linked. We should uphold voluntary community and oppose involuntary collectivism.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Neutral
Community programs need to be held accountable to measurable outcomes. Policing is integral to intervention. Justice can only be serve where there are consequences to sowing chaos.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
A government cannot be granted the sole authority over the citizen to protect life and property.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
