QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

My belief is that life starts at conception and know of multiple accounts of couples that were advised to abort their child because of a prognosis describing serious health problems for the child and / or mother. These couples chose to walk in faith and give the child a chance at life and then experienced a positive outcome, which was completely the opposite of what the doctor advised on. Tim Tebow be one of many examples.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

This needs to balanced and set to support small business owners and their ability to start, build and thrive supporting the local economy. There are too many adversarial state and federal regulations opposing small business's and teen work ethics.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

I would strongly apply the First Amendment. COVID overreach by way of Federal, State and even local Health Departments are a strong example of gross violations across America.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

I most align with (C) but I also believe that there should be something in place to assist those who are truly disabled and do not have the means. Biblically speaking taking care of the widows and orphans.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I believe this should strictly fall under the decision of the parents of the dependent child. At minimum their should be religious exemptions.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, biblically speaking Israel is Gods chosen people and also the fact that Israel should be able to provide for it's citizens and remain a sovereign nation. The US has the opportunity to protect both a sovereign nation under attack by violent extremists and also as Gods chosen people / nation.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

In April of 2021, while I was an elected Sheriff, I did a 2 day Arizona / Mexico Border tour via helicopter and ground. We took statistics from border counties on dangerous drugs and human trafficking. Those results were minimized as the impact over 3 years later are much greater than originally estimated. Federal Policy changes in 2020 are the direct impact to those issues that have now drastically impacted drug addiction, mental health, homelessness and massive spikes in crime rates.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Both advantageous to students who have different learning styles and needs to include faith, religion or medical needs. The other piece to this is that we now become free from any type of Big Government Agendas and it creates a system of better service through selective competition. In other words

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in the trinity, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ and that putting your faith in Him alone is the gateway to a relationship with God our creator. I put my faith in Christ when I was 19 years of age, I'm now 57. Living and applying biblical values is what makes and keeps families strong and productive. Strong and productive families makes a society and culture stronger and productive. When these values and principles are stripped away and disregarded, it has a very negative impact to our society and culture.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Neutral

Unfortunately I'm not sure I'm educated enough to make an educated answer

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Absolutely, it is part of the deception and agenda to bring division and discord across our country.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

I strongly oppose CRT

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

(C)

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Both hydro electricity and tapping into fossil fuels to increase our fuel reservoirs to be energy dependent.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Federal Government Infrastructure, Border and National Security. States - Infrastructure and some public safety. Local infrastructure and public safety.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

We need a balance of properly funded Policing Agencies for services of proactive deterrent, crime investigations and education with proper funding for equipment and training. We also need a balance of mental health programs to take some of work load off of our police agencies. There are a few other programs that would be beneficial for rehabilitation in order to minimize recidivism along with volunteer mentoring programs from from adolescents to adults trying to reintegrate productively.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Dangerous Felony Crimes or non citizens

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

Yes but with the caviat that they have an adequate training program to include, maintaining proper proficiency, handling and control of firearms.
