RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

As a representative, my role is to enact policy and follow the law, not to impose my personal beliefs on others. While I would not choose to have an abortion myself, I recognize that there may be dire medical circumstances or situations before a certain point where it could be necessary. My duty is to govern impartially, not to force my will upon the constituents I serve.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Agree

While I personally wouldn't choose this method, I recognize that if the procedure remains legal, access to abortion medications should be limited and strictly regulated. These medications are potentially dangerous and should only be available by prescription from a licensed medical professional. Any legal use of such drugs should be closely monitored to ensure they are only provided in truly necessary cases.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

While I object to certain Planned Parenthood procedures or policies, it's important to recognize that the organization provides a range of essential healthcare services beyond abortion, including physical exams, reproductive care, and contraception. Not all Planned Parenthood patients seek abortion services, and those with private insurance can utilize the organization's resources even if they are uncomfortable with their primary care provider.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Every Washingtonian should have the opportunity to be more prosperous than those who came before them, but we are seeing more and more living paycheck-to-paycheck and cannot make ends meet. By lessening the tax burdens and streamlining processing, it will help businesses to invest, create, and expand in their operations. In turn, they provide resources, employ citizens, and add value to their communities. Free markets and enterprise can help improve economic mobility, safety, and production.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

It's important to recognize that entry-level jobs often serve as a starting point, allowing individuals to develop their skills and advance through the ranks. However, hikes in the minimum wage can pose challenges for business owners and growth.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

We have witnessed a troubling increase in government overreach that infringes on our God-given right to freely assemble and worship. The separation of church and state is a fundamental principle that must be upheld. The damaging impact of these restrictions on our communities and mental health during the pandemic has been both significant and irreversible.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

As business owners, we have the right to operate our companies according to our own beliefs and principles. While we should be tolerant of others who hold different views, we are not obligated to endorse or accommodate perspectives that conflict with our own moral standards. Similarly, customers have the freedom to patronize businesses that align with their personal values. Ultimately, both business owners and consumers possess the right to make choices that reflect their individual convictions.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B and C. Accessible and affordable healthcare is crucial for veterans, seniors, and the most vulnerable members of our society. At the same time, citizens should have the freedom to choose healthcare options that best meet their individual needs. While programs like Medicare and Medicaid play an important role, not all insurance should be taxpayer-funded. We must carefully evaluate who receives subsidies to prevent abuse and misuse of the system.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

We should have the freedom to make informed decisions about our personal health and medical treatment. While some vaccines have demonstrated effectiveness, the matters of personal health and safety are best left to the discretion of individuals.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Israel is one of the United States' largest trading partners and most reliable allies in the Middle East. Through joint counterterrorism efforts, the two countries collaborate to combat terrorism and exchange valuable research. The U.S. receives critical products such as pharmaceutical goods and agricultural machinery from Israel. While Israel's decisions don't always align with American interests, the significant benefits of this strategic partnership are hard to overlook.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Our porous border poses a clear threat, allowing in immigrants who may intend harm to the United States. The current vetting process is inadequate to ensure the safety of our citizens. We must also address the influx of deadly drugs crossing our borders and harming our communities. Many seek to undermine our nation, and failing to secure the border jeopardizes our ability to recover. Safeguarding our borders is crucial for our national security, prosperity, and sovereignty.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Agree

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Guided by the Bible, I shape my spiritual beliefs and values, centered on Jesus' clear call to love God and love others. I strive to embody this in every situation, treating all with kindness even when they disagree with me. My faith in God's promises steadies me, as I continually refine my beliefs to live as a disciple and teach others. Rather than conform to societal norms, I rely on God's will to direct my actions and shape my future.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Disagree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

The prevalence and priority of racism can vary greatly depending on the specific region and circumstances. While racism remains a persistent threat that requires vigilance, it is not the sole or primary issue in every situation. We should consistently strive for inclusivity, judging people based on their merits rather than the color of their skin. Certain areas continue to grapple with this, however, it would be inaccurate to attribute every conflict or issue to underlying racial biases.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

A)

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Hydropower, nuclear, clean coal, and natural gas are some of the ways that we can make energy cleaner and prioritize keeping our energy costs low.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The government's primary purpose, as stated in the preamble to the Constitution, is to "establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty." This reflects the inherent rights of the people, the principle of government by the people, and the separation of powers to curb corruption.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Conservative

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

Public safety is the foundation for a thriving community. It is imperative that we maintain robust investment in our law enforcement and police departments to ensure our neighborhoods are safe places to live, work, and play. While we should explore creative ways to fund community programs and address other issues, the resources that support public safety must be protected as a top priority.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The right to own and use firearms is a fundamental liberty. History has shown that disarming citizens leads to dire consequences. While criminals flout gun laws, responsible gun owners should not have their rights infringed upon. Those who abuse the privilege of gun ownership and pose a danger to themselves or others may face restrictions, but law-abiding citizens should retain the freedom to possess firearms. After all, criminals will find ways to obtain guns regardless of the laws in place.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

Those uncomfortable with carrying should not be forced to do so, as it could result in potential risks. However, teachers and educators who wish to carry firearms for safety reasons should have the right to do so, provided they are responsible and ensure the firearms are properly secured and inaccessible to students or unauthorized individuals. Ultimately, the goal is to keep students safe; if the presence of trained personnel serves as a deterrent, then that purpose would be achieved.
