QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

To save the life of the Mother

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

The advantage is gathering data as to long term reactions and outcomes. Personally, I believe the taking of these drugs should be discouraged for the most part.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

It depends on the wording of the legislation.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I was thankful for it when I got a job at 15. Actually I believe the market will be a better arbitrator of minimum wage that any legislative or regulatory group.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Please see the 1st Amendment. Only legal answer? None

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Again, please see the 1st Amendment. I am not sure what the answer is that will insure both fairness and uphold the free exercising of religious beliefs, but I believe there is one, we just have not found it yet.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Again, this is a major problem that affects everyone of us. However, unless we're willing to deem healthcare a universal right there is no simple answer (that I see). But if we decree such a universal right we will eventually go broke. I don't believe we have a right to healthcare, so philosophically I choose D. But practically, I believe we must seek compromise at this time, because the system is so out of whack that simply cutting people loose would be very traumatic and rend the body politic.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I do not know. Again, compromise between individual liberty and promoting the general welfare must be sought.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, it is important. They are and have been a faithful ally in standing for freedom and democratic ideals,

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

We need to agree on a policy and enforce it. We must reserve the right and maintain the ability to control what and who comes into this land of freedom and opportunity. I believe we can (and have a moral obligation to) be fair and welcoming, for all have inalienable rights, not just those born in the U.S.A. But we are a sovereign nation and therefore have the obligation to set up the rules and enforce them fairly.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Like healthcare, education has somehow become a "right." As long as the Government is going to tax the citizenry to pay for education the people have a right to dictate how their own children are to be educated with those tax dollars.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Also, the government has no authority to mess with marriage in any form. A marriage is not more valid because the Government says it is so. Nor is it less valid. This whole brouhaha is another example of the government sticking it's fingers into everything and then wondering why things are so messed up and blaming those he or she disagrees with.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. I have an obligation to be a good citizen. But ultimately, like my Lord, my kingdom is not of this world. Nor do I have the right to dictate my beliefs, for God has given to each one of us to choose - and He loves us unconditionally regardless of what choices we make. I believe, as a citizen, I am to be internally led by the second great commandment - that is, "To love my neighbor as myself." I believe this is the guiding principle for my duty as a citizen.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

We have a Republic. The people who desire a true democracy will, I fear, be gravely disappointed if they get their wish.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes, because if people are treated unfairly there will be trouble. We must continue to strive to live up to the great ideals this nation was founded upon.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Even if there is lingering inequality, (and I am not disputing that there is) CRT is defeatist, offering no hope for redemption, no opportunity to grow together to fulfill the promise that is the American Dream. We must find a way to come together and to lift all of us, to not rest as long as any are left by the wayside.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

I'm an A and D kind of guy.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

I'm not sure we've discovered it yet. The world is full of energy. Can we harness the tides? Or tap the power of the wind & sun cost-efficiently? I believe in the free market and that the government won't find answers but only compound the problems.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To provide for the common defense, to promote the general welfare, and to ensure the blessings of liberty for ourselves, our children, and our children's children.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

We don't have all the answers. We cannot make utopia. We had it once in a perfect garden and we screwed it up. We cannot get there from here. And there is nothing new under the sun.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Please see the 2nd amendment.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

Please see the 2nd amendment. What does infringed mean?
