QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

None

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

I am a strong pro-life person. Any medical treatment, whether I agree with it or not, should be undertaken with great care ensuring the patient knows the possible physical, emotional, and mental health consequences.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Life is a gift from God and should not be easily dismissed. This is a slippery slope we must avoid. Yes life has difficult and painful times. I watched my father struggle with dementia yet his waning months were some of the most precious.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Everyone's rights should be respected. Where our beliefs and practices are at odds we must have the ability to respectfully part ways. Currently there are some groups that want to force conformity in violation of an individual's convictions. A free society must have the capacity for a wide variety of beliefs, convictions and practices. At the same time, there must also be dignity, compassion, respect and tolerance for those we disagree with.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. Israel is a valuable ally in the Middle East. Israel is a place where Jews, Arabs, and Christians live together in relative peace. The minuscule portion of land held by Israel is hotly contested simply because many people hate the Jews. We must stand against such hatred.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C. Unfortunately the system has been structured in such a way that Medicare and Medicaid cannot be eliminated without causing seniors and the poor to be left with no healthcare. Also, we must recognize that some people will need assistance. This need not be a permanent situation for all. The free market has the capacity to adapt in a relatively cost effective manner if the government does not overburden with mandates, regulations, etc. People must have freedom of choice.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Polio and other diseases have been eliminated by vaccines. However, the redefining of terms and the politicalization of vaccines had made this a controversial issue. Ultimately no one has the right to tell anyone what they must put in their body.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Many have fallen into the trap thinking there is a limited amount of success available. We should not punish but encourage success. We must encourage equality of opportunity knowing there will not be equality of outcome. We all have different skill sets, things we value, and tolerances for difficulty until breakthrough comes.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

The minimum wage issue has list sight of the reality that an entry level wage is not meant to be a living wage. Currently the minimum wage has deleterious effects on inflation and job creation.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

This is a discriminatory practice and should not be contemplated. We have the freedom of thought, speech, expression, etc. No one should be allowed to dictate what another thinks, does, or believes. The group think mentality is contrary to a free, healthy, and prosperous society.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Criminal gangs, drug cartels, human traffickers and terrorists are taking advantage of our porous border to bring harm to people and this nation. We must close the border to protect our sovereignty, shut down human trafficking, stem the flow of drugs, and ensure Americans are safe in their homes, property, and persons. Legal immigration is fine and could expanded if illegal immigration is stopped. We must know who is coming to the US and why. It is proper to defend our citizens from criminals.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

As long as the government does not have the means to dictate the curriculum and content of classes I am in favor of the money allotted to a student being given to parents to spend as they see fit without government interference. Parents have the right to know what their children are being taught. Parents also know what is appropriate for their children. Teachers and administrators can openly lie to parents which is WRONG!

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

It is folly to believe we do not need police. What we do not need is a national police force. Local control, interaction, accountability and relationships help keep the police a general force for good.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

What part of shall not be infringed does the government not understand? The 2nd amendment was primarily written as a means for the people to protect themselves from a tyranical government. Violent criminals, domestic abusers and others may lose this right after due process of law but, the inherent right to keep and bear arms is a constitutional reality.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

Teachers should be afforded the right to protect themselves and students from violent intruders. They should be given high levels of training so they and our children are as safe as possible.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To secure the rights of the people and to provide for the defense of the nation. The constitution outlines the role of the federal government. Obviously we have allowed things to get way out of control. It is time to reign in the behemoth of government.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Children cannot drive, smoke, buy alcohol, get a tattoo, etc. They should not be allowed to make decisions that will alter their lives forever. We must also examine why there is such confusion in this generation. What is happening in primary and secondary schools. What is happening in the media, entertainment and governmental realms that is fostering such confusion? The social experimentation must end.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Everyone deserves to be respected and valued even if you disagree with their lifestyle choices. As an example, hospital visitation, property inheritance rights are not predicated strictly on being married. We can acknowledge people and their inherent worth without violating millennia of historical reality. Mutual respect and freedom to respectfully disagree are imperative for a civil society.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a strong Christian. I believe all people are created in the image of God and as such they have inherent worth and value. No one person is of greater intrinsic value than any other. God loves all people but that does not mean He approves of everyone's conduct.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Election integrity is in question. We must work to ensure everyone has confidence in the electoral process. We require identification to fly on an airplane, buy alcohol, drive, etc. Requiring identification to vote is not burdensome, it points to the value we place on the right to vote.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

The electoral college is a constitutional mechanism that helps ensure the rights of the minority are not trampled upon by the majority.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Since America is made up of imperfect humans there will always be streams of racism in our society. We must work to educate people regarding the reality that "all men are created equal". Racism is divisive and therefore a potential threat to a harmonious society. We have made great strides in racial harmony but there is always more to be done. There are more profound threats to domestic security such as radicalized religious and political people, the CCP, etc.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Critical race theory is racist.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

c. We must protect the environment but we also must ensure we have affordable, reliable sources of energy. In a hostile world we need to be energy independent. We also need to continue to develop other forms of energy production. We should not prematurely introduce them. Nor should we allow politicians to benefit from the funding of "pet" energy "solutions". Market forces will shape our energy future in such a way that people and jobs will less likely be harmed in the process.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear and fossil fuels are the current go to sources. Others will usurp them in the future. Thus far, there is not a significantly reliable, long term alternative. We must encourage innovation and demand that the government not pick winners/losers.
