Abortion is a personal preference and should not be tax payer funded due to not having full support from the taxpayers. If you choose to have an abortion it should be paid for by the person who decided to do so.

due to current law in Colorado it is legal to seek an abortion because the people voted to approve. Given my elected position I must follow the law the people voted on.

Minimum wage jobs were intended originally to teach our youth economics and how to earn your own money through work ethics. Minimum wage jobs were never intended to support a whole family house hold.

1. Eliminate overburdened and unnecessary regulations on industry that the government is required to open new offices to manage. 2. Have a thorough third party audit of government spending every 2-4 years to make sure we let the people know exactly where their tax dollars are spent. 3. Fully fund what we as Colorado legislators are constitutionally obligated to fund, and budget only what is left over for extra programs.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of church and state is a loaded topic. I legislate with common sense and with the guidance of the US and State constitution. But I rely on my beliefs to make the tough decisions.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

We have a federal policy on immigration and states and cities should not get involved in altering or ignoring any piece of that federal law. That being said, I do believe our process of becoming residents and citizens of this country needs to be fixed and streamlined while keeping the vetting process intact if not strengthened.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Each state knows what is best for its students. I believe education should stay at the local level. This is why we have our state board of education and our local school district boards of education that have elected members of the community they serve.

Foreign governments funding our education opens the door for those foreign governments putting in their own thoughts on how we should educate our population in order to receive funding. And that to me is a dangerous door to open.
