QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Abortions should be safe, rare and legal. As a nurse, I understand human situations and circumstances can be heartbreaking and complex. Abortion is a private and personal matter for the mother and father.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

As a professional nurse, I understand having a physician involved is ideal. However, that may not always be the reality.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Agree

During my career, I was a hospice nurse and a Long Term Care (nursing homes) Surveyor for CDPHE. Some circumstances are difficult, rare and require an ethics team to review that includes the family. Modern day medicine advances have created medical ethical situations that are relatively new. I have witnessed and seen heartbreaking human circumstances that none of us would choose.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Never. Our 1st amendment gives us religious freedom. Our government should never be allowed to close churches, assuming that a particular “church” is not a de facto front for terrorism.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

The word “required” means by the government. This is not the role of government.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

We visited China twice. The Chinese people are good, humble people, however the CCP does not reflect the Chinese citizen. International negotiations, diplomacy and relationships are highly nuanced and strained now. I am not qualified to speak more.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, we have been allies for many years and must maintain that relationship to try and keep peace. Currently, the United States has few allies in the Middle East. None of us know the intricacies of the high level and complex diplomacy that is needed to keep peace and avoid a nuclear confrontation.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

I support a free market. Citizens need to choose the healthcare provider of their choosing. Medicare and Medicaid are here to stay, As a nurse, I understand that universal healthcare reduces access and quality. I have seen patients choose to come to the US for healthcare because of long wait times and poorer lift comes and quality in their own Country (Canada). We need to promote good health habits, prevent bad outcomes and provide education.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Never. Due to the disastrous mandated COVID protocol, I lost trust in the government (Fauci, pharma, government agencies ) that mandated a untested experimental vaccine, masks and social distancing Today heart risks continue secondary to the vaccine.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Personal property rights are the outcome of a free enterprise system that is based on less government intervention and regulations. Personal property rights are one of the foundations of our form of government.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Because the government has dictated a minimum wage, I have seen first hand that small businesses cannot afford to hire employees. I have talked with small business owners who now run the business entirely themselves. This is not the role of government

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

Absolutely NO.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

America can not maintain its sovereignty with an open border. We must know WHO is entering the US and WHY. I support legal immigration, the rule of law and taxpayer money supporting legal citizens.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

I support school choice, parental involvement and curriculum transparency. Parents know what best fits their child’s educational needs and would uphold the parent’s values.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

I support our police and police funding at the local level and bringing back qualified immunity and allowing law enforcement to call and interact with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Common sense approach that does not restrict or chip away at our 2nd amendment rights to possess or carry guns. (Common sense- strong security locks where guns are sold, security cameras etc.)

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

If a teacher is qualified, vetted, trained and comfortable with an open or concealed carry- YES. Schools are vulnerable to bad actors. Just knowing there are armed personnel in the schools is in and of itself a deterrent.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

Absolutely NOT

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

Absolutely NOT

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

It depends on the which level government. In general, I believe in less governmental control, rules, taxation, and regulations. I believe in self responsibility. The fundamental purpose of government is to maintain our Constitutional rights, freedom and liberties and not chip away at them. I believe a strong defense is the best deterrent against war. Government must stay out of the private lives of the citizenry. Ensure safety, provide defense, enforce laws and maintain individual freedoms.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Conservative

I am fiscally conservative, and socially moderate. Elected representatives must seek wisdom from those who have expertise and experience in any particular field in order to understand the long term consequences and cost prior to casting a vote. I learn from interaction with experts. Wisdom is knowing you don’t know it all. The votes we cast affect people’s lives in a very real way. Elected representatives serve the people, not the other way around.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Children belong to the parents and not to he state.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

The healthcare system is currently strained. Some healthcare needs and services need to be paid by the individual and not taxpayers.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My faith is deep, strong, steady, private and personal. I believe in the power of prayer. Ultimately, it is all in God’s hands.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Only US citizens should have the privilege to vote in America. Voting integrity is a bedrock of our democracy.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

Our Forefathers understood that large population centers would rule the entire country making smaller states irrelevant. Our system of government is the best and it works.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is not a threat to our domestic security. The word racism is being used politically to increase divisions and tension. Unfortunately, it is working.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

There is a fundamental difference in the DNA of males vs females. Males have more muscular strength and should participate with other males. As a woman, mother and grandmother, I absolutely do not want men in women’s spaces.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

A and C

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Coal and natural gas are the most reliable sources. Wind and solar farms only give intermittent support and are not reliable.
