QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Elective abortions should be allowed at the discretion of the pregnant person and a doctor.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Neutral

While I agree that the drugs should meet safety standards, I do not believe that reporting should be required except in the case of an adverse reaction to the treatment.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Disagree

Planned Parenthood provides much more than abortion services. It provides vital healthcare services, such as cancer screenings. Most abortion providers do more than just abortions. It makes no sense to prevent them from providing other services by cutting off funding. I also believe that abortion is a life-saving procedure and should be funded as such.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Did not answer

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Neutral

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

It is important. We share democratic values and mutual interests with Israel. Right now, however I believe a cease fire in Gaza is necessary to realign those values that we have shared.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

(A) I strongly believe that healthcare is a basic human right. We are lagging behind other countries in providing healthcare for all.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Vaccinations should be required to prevent dangerous communicable diseases as they always have been. Should another pandemic arise, if it is deemed necessary by scientists studying the disease, they should be required.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Did not answer

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Agree

I believe the border bill that was introduced by the Biden-Harris administration and had bipartisan support should be revisited. It was the most comprehensive bill of its kind, and it should have passed, given that it would have given both parties what they wanted—secure borders and humane treatment of asylum-seekers.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Disagree

Public funds should never be used for private schools. Pulling tax dollars away from public schools weakens those schools. Every child deserves a high-quality public education. One child’s education is no more important than that of another, and when we take from area schools, we hurt those children who do not have the opportunity to go to private schools, even if their tax dollars followed them. The choice for private or home schooling was always there. Let’s not weaken our public schools.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

ABOUT YOU

Did not answer

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

Did not answer

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Did not answer

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Did not answer

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Neutral

Children most definitely should be protected from abuse and grooming. I do not understand the idea that anyone is teaching gender ideology or mutilating children’s bodies. I feel as if this question is a culture war, hot-button question. Transgender people are not recruiting children. No one disagrees that our children should be protected from dangerous predators. The issue that bothers me here is that we are creating a fear of a community of people that is entirely unnecessary.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Neutral

This issue is complex. If the service is deemed medically necessary by a health professional for the mental health—and ultimately the survival of the person requesting it, yes, it should.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Disagree

Our country was founded on the idea of individual freedom, including freedom of religion. To impose the idea that marriage is God-ordained forces religious ideals on people who have the freedom to practice any religion—or none—that they wish.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. I was raised in the church, attending every Wednesday and twice on Sunday. My faith has always been a source of strength for me, and I believe in the teachings of Jesus. I value most the idea of service before self because that is what He would have me do.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Agree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Neutral

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Did not answer

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Neutral

Critical Race Theory is something that is taught only in law school. I do not know how it has become such a hot-button topic in our country. CRT has never and will never be taught in public schools at any grade level.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
