QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

The school’s primary responsibility is to ensure the student’s education continues. In a crisis situation, the district should focus on reasonable flexibility so the student can remain engaged in learning. That may include coordinating with the student and parents on how coursework is completed, excusing time for medical appointments, or making accommodations for short-term health issues such as morning sickness. Since COVID, schools have gained more experience with online and hybrid learning options, which can be used when appropriate. Any approach should be focused on helping the student stay on track academically while keeping parents involved in decisions.

ECONOMY

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Agree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

In the early years, especially Pre-K, parent involvement is critical. Simple actions like reading to children at home—many of which are free—dramatically improve long-term academic success. Schools should support early learning, but they cannot replace engaged parents. As students progress, they should increasingly be invested in their own education. By the time a student reaches college, they should understand the cost and value of the education they are receiving.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The government may not establish, endorse, or compel participation in a religion. This principle comes from concerns about state-run religion, such as systems where government and church authority were combined. In public schools, this means the school itself should remain neutral on religion, while students and staff retain the right to individual religious expression, as long as participation is voluntary and does not interfere with the educational mission.

IMMIGRATION

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

Agree

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Disagree

Schools should not direct students to outside providers for abortion or gender-affirming services without clear context, safeguards, and parental involvement. These are complex and sensitive issues that require balance, transparency, and clearly defined limits on the school’s role.

Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Agree

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Agree

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Schools should teach health and biology, including human anatomy, while more personal or value-based aspects of sex education are best addressed by parents.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Language Arts, Math, Science, American History, Civics, Information Technology, Personal Finances, Art & Music, Foreign Language, Physical Fitness, Vocational Learning

Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.

Agree

School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

Agree

VALUES

Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian.

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Agree

I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.

Agree

School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.

Disagree

Limiting or removing materials that disrupt learning or are not appropriate for students does not violate free speech;

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.
