OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Elective abortions should never be allowed no matter the circumstance.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Choose not to answer

Outlawing abortion drugs would eliminate the need for such standards, but should be regulated if they remain legal.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Minimum wage laws are unnecessary and detrimental to local economies especially when the law imposes a significant required increase in wages upon businesses.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

ESG ratings are awful, but investing public money in private businesses are just as bad if not worse.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Under NO circumstance.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Closer to D. There should not be any taxpayer funded health care. Defunding Medicaid and Medicare is possible and private alternatives should be looked into, though I would be extremely cautious of taking this path. Defunding these programs in the future would be a difficult and intricate task that would require a long-term plan that likely spans over decades.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Government and schools must never require vaccinations. Certain employers that provide care to others may have more liberty to mandate vaccinations but only in rare cases when there are no alternative options and such vaccines are proven to be safe.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

It is good to be allies with other countries and to create relationships that are beneficial for the economic interests of both nations and including U.S. and Israeli citizens. These are the most important, if not only, reasons why the United States' relationship with Israel is important.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Build the wall.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Doing such helps families and communities flourish and ensures that taxpayer money goes towards the education of all children.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Agree

This is true, although I see parents making decisions for their minor children more as a moral duty, thus such has exceptions. For example, if parents believe that grooming, gender transitioning, or any other harmful ideology or practice for minors is okay, then that right can be revoked.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Catholic who aspires to uphold traditional Christian, family, and moral values in my personal and professional life. I believe that faith in God and His love for us by sending His only son to die on the cross is at the center of everything in life. Everything other thing in life falls into place after holding true to this belief.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

North Dakota needs to start requiring voter registration.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

Absolutely not. The voice of states is crucial in determining the election of future presidents as our founding fathers intended.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

It is not a threat. Racist words or actions are rude, undeserved, and at times disgusting, but not so much of an issue that it is a threat to our nation's domestic security. Recent times have proven that the belief that racism is rooted in every foundation for our nation and culture is far more a threat to our domestic security and real flourishing in our communities than racism itself.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

A and C. Stricter laws and regulations will greatly hurt our coal and oil industries in North Dakota and must be opposed. Undermining energy independence with new "green" regulations will damage the previous reliability of our energy sources and increases the risks of outages as have been seen in Democrat-run states.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Fossil fuels have proven themselves to be reliable for generations to come. Green energies including nuclear energy may be key for the future, but that question should be left up to the private sector and not decided by our government.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The purpose of government is serve and protect its citizens. It conducts oversight over domestic affairs (foreign at national level) at hopes of ensuring the prosperity of all people while allowing decisions to be made at the lowest level of authority possible. These ideas represent the intentions of the founding fathers of the United States of America when drafting our Constitution.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

Some community programs are good when handled at the local level, but defunding police departments is disasterous for any community.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Need background checks so that criminals do not get their hands on guns.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

This would mean new extensive training programs in our education system, but we should be able to trust our teachers when the safety of our children is threatened. Such privileges would be allowed only those who wish to carry a firearm and are allowed to carry.
