QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Neutral
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Neutral
Informed consent is essential before anyone should be advised to take or prescribed pharmaceutical drugs. There are trade-offs in requiring in-person consultation with a medical doctor. Individuals should gather as much relevant information as possible and make an informed decision if one is capable of such a task.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
In circumstances where the fetus is not viable on its own or the mother's life is at risk.
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
The federal government should help guide our country to economic prosperity, actual health, and reduce crime. Hopefully medical discoveries and breakthroughs will ensure every desired pregnancy will culminate in the birth of a healthy child and mother. With the best circumstances possible, the need and want for abortions will be mitigated to the smallest level possible. One day, perhaps even entirely.
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
End U.S. foreign military bases, foreign aid, funding NGO's, abuse of federal aid programs by illegal aliens. We should be willing to discuss any federal budget expense, look for improvements/better solutions and be transparent about the tradeoffs.
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Agree
The student loan debt is an issue that has been narrowed to a lose lose framing. The federal government, employers and universities are responsible for the student debt crisis. The federal government and employers REQUIRED college degrees to qualify for jobs that did not need a degree. The federal government guaranteed student loans without any requirements of the universities (keeping administrative costs down for example). Universities bore no responsibility for student outcomes. There's more.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
What you want is a marketplace of ideas. ESG is a garbage ideology as it can be applied arbitrarily by those in control of the decision making. Instead, a simple approach with rational people that have clear metrics, clear goals, clear outcomes. This will allow individuals to pick programs that they choose and allow anyone with a better idea to compete to gain investment. The idea is too complex for central planning at this time. The results should be the determinant factor. Start small, scale.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
No individual is required by the Constitution to provide services to others. If the government is to impose such standards, where would it end? The marketplace is a better alternative, however imperfect it may be.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Never. Vaccines only have the potential to protect the individual who takes the vaccine. This makes it an individual choice that must be weighed with the true risks of the vaccine for the individual's circumstances allowing for informed consent.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
This question clearly demonstrates how foolish the conversation around "healthcare" has been framed. We need to focus on the fundamentals of health to reduce the overall medical care costs. We need more competition in the area's where the most money is spent. It does not appear that a for-profit system is creating the types of cost improvements we should expect.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C) You cannot force people to have our values and be vigilant in protecting them. This must come from individuals. The best we can do is be an example to others on what works and offer to export these ideas to others.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
We should limit our trade with China and thwart their attempts to steal IP.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Not important enough to sacrifice our future for.
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
Endless, pointless wars, ignorant ideology pushing ideas the vast majority of citizens do not hold. Many Americans would be willing to defend our country when it is needed. Most of what the military has done since WW2 has not been that.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
I believe a wall would help in certain areas and it should be funded as a top priority. There are other tools that may prove to be more effective and affordable that should be used where they work best, such as long range cameras and ground sensors. We must also secure our northern border as the number of illegal crossings are increasing at a rapid pace as well. I would consider using our military to prevent illegal aliens from crossing.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Non criminals that want to positively contribute to our society. Only under circumstances that benefit our country. The number of people immigrating to our country legally during a period should not place undue burden on current citizens. Amnesty should not be granted for people that entered our country illegally.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
The more choice, the higher the probability of finding an acceptable option for a desired outcome.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Neutral
You can have a marriage sanctioned in the religion of your choosing and the government can acknowledge it.
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in God. I believe we have free will. I believe in treating others the way I want to be treated. I believe in freedom, responsibility and personal accountability.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
We can easily provide every American citizen with a photo ID. It will increase the integrity of our elections. It's easier than guaranteeing, to a sufficient degree, there are zero illegal aliens and non citizens in our country who could attempt to vote.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Disagree
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Disagree
I believe we should look for better ways of doing most things related to economic activity. Reducing pollution and inputs while increasing quality and quantity of outputs is a net positive for everyone. The improvements need to be compelling, not just a speculative bet forced on everyone. I think some federal research dollars should be directed towards these efforts of finding improvements.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
It's clear not all options work in all applications. The right mix of the most economical and least pollutant options should win out. We should be willing to experiment.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Choose not to answer
These labels are insufficient to describe the question above.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To take on responsibilities laid forth in the Constitution. Things that make sense on a national level.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Neutral
The Supreme Court needs appointments of a reasonable duration (18 years) and cognitive tests. Any person on the court not cognitively capable should be removed.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
We need a sufficient level of police resources and staffing to remove criminals from our streets. Once this has been addressed, we need to invest in preventing youth from becoming criminals (stop the pipeline). We should regularly look at cost effective measures to deal with the current criminals and attempt to reduce the burden they place on society. In order to reduce crime, we must help people succeed by making the good path more direct and rewarding along the way.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
No law-abiding citizen should have their 2nd Amendment Right infringed. Abolish the ATF.
