QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Neutral
While I do not want to make possession of any drug illegal. Abortion should be illegal On the state level, even if it is done with a drug. but it is not a federal issue.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
None. but again, it is the responsibility of the state to pass laws on abortion not the federal government.
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
No and none. but The Federal government should not fund it in anyway!
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
1st and foremost a strong economy needs sound money to get off of the boom/bust roller coaster. To do this we need to abolish the Federal Reserve. Next we need to require 100% reserves on checking deposits by the banks.the abolish onerous regulations
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
There is something to be said for the fact that student loan debt is not covered under bankruptcy laws. I do see that as a problem.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
I don't believe that there was ever intended to be a hard and fast separation of church and state. prayer in school or other public functions is not prohibited by the constitution.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Property rights are the cornerstone of our liberties and to violate such an essential right is an affront to the very essence of American Freedom.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Government should never require vaccines,I see a case to be made for 85 year old grandma to require girls who work in her quilt shop to get jabbed. Generally companies shouldn't be allowed to require vaccines unless they have less than 5 employees.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
D) and we should have a true free market in healthcare. this is what is needed to see prices of care to actually go down.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
D! It's not just America First! Its Oklahoma First and America Only! We are going broke subsidizing defense for the rest of the world! We should bring our soldiers home and secure the border.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Disagree
They may in the future due to our bellicose attitude towards them, but as it stands China has her own problems. They are surrounded by enemies and they do not have the resources nor the inclination to cause us problems. Cyber security may be an issue.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
It is important that we stop giving aid to Israel. Welfare always weakens the recipient! If they are to be a sovereign and independent state they need to do so without our tax dollars. They should handle their affairs absent our interference, But we should keep diplomatic relations open and continue to trade with them. But we are not helping them by continuing to let them use us as a crutch!
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
I think Its Wokism on the one hand and the vaccine mandate, along with the growing realization that they will be sent all over the world and not actually be defending America, but defending the UAE, Germany, South Korea or some other country.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
I support Governor Abbot and his efforts to secure the Texas Border with Mexico!
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
It should be up to the people! each immigrant should be sponsored by 2 law abiding citizens, who agree to be civilly liable and financially responsible for the new immigrant for 2 years. Each citizen should only be allowed to sponsor 1 immigrant per year. Aside from this there should be no immigration. This would end the mass flood of migrants at our southern border while at the same time streamlining our process.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
ideally we would leave education to the free market, where competition would raise teacher salaries and reduce costs. I've seen where Oklahoma spends $12,000 per student per year k-12 while private schools can do it for 8k per year. I would expect that number to drop if the state monopoly on education were eliminated. Customer satisfaction should be the top priority, and the parents should be the customers.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
The Department of Education would be at the top of my list of unconstitutional agencies to abolish. 2nd only to the Federal Reserve, which causes inflation by printing money out of nothing!
VALUES
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
It is certainly not a federal question. but I don't think the government should be in the business of marriage.
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
100% agree.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a reformed Christian. I believe in the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed, And the Westminster Confessions. I am a fan of R.C. Sproul and Ligonier ministries (see www.ligonier.org ) more germane to the discussion. I don't believe that government is here to punish every evil deed, but rather to protect life liberty and property. Law is violence, and violence is only justified in my mind where there has been an aggression made against another. We live in a sinful and fallen world, government decrees can not change that, the best government can do is protect life, liberty and property. My view on government is very much influenced by Matthew 13.24-43
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Neutral
I am ambivalent... On the one hand it seems like it makes sense, and isn't an undo burden, on the other hand we have had elections for over 200 years without photo IDs and it is curious to me why they are so greatly needed only now. If I were in the state legislature I would probably vote for it, but its not something I would ever sponsor.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
The United States is a union of states, not a single entity. Thus it is the states who, through the electoral college elect the president! If the electoral college were to ever be abolished, it would make states like Oklahoma and Wyoming entirely subservient to states like California and New York!
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Disagree
I very strongly disagree! In fact there is some research that shows that climate change, (to the extent that it is man made) is a net good for the environment and for mankind. (see The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels by Alex Epstein)
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
I think the energy question should be answered by the market free from government meddling and interference. To answer the question directly the market today says that it is coal. I do think that government should allow for Nuclear power.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I think (mostly libertarian) would be an honest assessment. though I do have a few deviations from Murray Rothbard. I am however squarely in the camp of the Austrian School of economics. See www.mises.org I listen to the Tom Woods show regularly as well as "Part of the Problem" with Dave Smith, and the "Bob Murphy Show" (all on YouTube or podcatchers) I theres always something to disagree with, but my thought and theirs are along the same lines.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect life, liberty, and property. to enforce contracts. It is also worth saying that if a government has legal tender laws, that the money should be sound! not decreasing in value from one year to the next.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
NO
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
NO
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Disagree
I disagree. but more importantly, determining the constitutionality of federal laws ought not be left to the majority of 9 men in black robes. It should be assessed by the state legislatures! And Madison and Jefferson agree with me. they authored the Nullification acts in 1798 after Congress passed the Alien and Sedition Acts. (for more on this see "Nullification" by Tom Wood.. it is on audible)
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
the government doesn't exist to keep you safe. there are 194 other countries in the world you can go live in if you want to be "safe" America is different, we were founded not to keep men safe but to keep men free! I would work to repeal the Gun Control Act of 1968 and The National Firearms Act of 1934!
