QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

As a teen parent, I know the importance school resources have on teen pregnancies. I strongly believe schools should work with students and their parents/guardians to assist students to jointly continue their education and support them in their new role as a young parents. I support resources such as connecting students with programs that provide with baby formula, diapers, furniture, and other governmental assistance agencies available. These services should be geared towards ensuing students graduate and provide a pathway for students to continue to higher education.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

Government funding of public education should prioritize accountability and efficiency to ensure taxpayer dollars are used wisely. While I will advocate and proudly represent public school K-12 education, I believe in parental rights to choose alternative options such as charter schools and vouchers to increase choice and competition. I will work tirelessly for every PreK- 12th grade student because every child deserves a quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

I am deeply concerned that politically motivated organizations like Planned Parenthood are funding material and resources in our public schools. I do not support abortion and gender-affirming resources to be used in public schools.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?

Yes

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Strongly Disagree

DEI argues if one demographic group is underrepresented in any particular industry or job that must be the result of some sort of systemic discrimination or racism. I disagree with this view point, I do not support discrimination against any ethnic groups or economic class. Clark County School District must treat all students equally despite skin color or economic class.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

I support giving control of public education back to the states and their local communities.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

I believe K-12 public education should prioritize the following; American history, language arts, mathematics, information technology, science, personal finances, physical fitness, civics, vocational learning, art & music, and foreign language.

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

I support all parental rights and the choice to choose the best option for their students' education. I encourage the Nevada Legislature to fund the Opportunity Scholarship by allowing funds to follow the student's education.

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

Every single student has a completely different background and challenges. As a School Board trustee, I would advocate we give each student the same opportunities in order to achieve successful outcomes.

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

I support having a parental "opt-in" choice for CSE, and I would include a no peer pressure clause.

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

As a Christian, my spiritual beliefs are grounded in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the principles found in the Bible. I value life, faith, love, and the pursuit of righteousness. While we may have different perspectives, I believe in the importance of respecting one another and engaging in dialogue with kindness and grace.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

As a conservative, I firmly believe that it is the responsibility of parents to provide sexual education to their children in an age-appropriate manner. This allows families to instill values aligned with their beliefs and ensures that children receive guidance in understanding the importance of purity and responsibility in this aspect of life. It's essential for parents to be actively involved in shaping their children's moral compass in a world that often challenges traditional values.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

I support sexual education teaching solely human anatomy/reproductive system, sexually transmitted diseases, abstinence, consent, contraceptive methods (including reliability percentages), the stages of pregnancy, and fetal development.

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Strongly Agree

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support identification to be shown when voting.

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree
