To address the issue of abortion, there are three elements to consider: First, biologically speaking, life begins at conception. Second, the intentional taking of a human life is morally wrong. Third, because life begins at conception and because the intentional taking of a human life is morally wrong, it logically follows that abortion is morally wrong.

I believe government funding of public education inevitably establishes a bureaucracy whose prime objective becomes the perpetuation of the bureaucracy. I would much rather see a funding structure that enabled parents/guardians to direct their tax dollars to the educational option of their own choosing, be it private, public, parochial, or homeschooling.

Mandated curriculum should focus on developing proficiency in math, English, science and civics. Religious and moral instruction should be done in coordination with parents to ensure the instruction is consistent with parental beliefs.

As taxpayers, the public community needs to be aware of all the materials being made available to students. There needs to be a vetting process by which the school district provides learning materials for community review and an opportunity to express concerns if any are found.
