QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

This subject matter is not pertinent to the role of a school board member.
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
None. An unwanted or crisis pregnancy is a medical and family matter. Our education system should remain focused on providing the education needed for success in the future.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Government funding for public education from Pre-K through college would undoubtedly involve a substantial tax burden that I do not support. K-12 education is the basic requirement for many professions and the continuation of public school for this age group is imperative. A traditional 4 year college degree is not also the best option for graduating seniors and there are many vocation and technical based jobs that provide respectable incomes.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Educational material that is focused on the necessary core subjects such a reading, writing and math should not contain many inflammatory topics that would push the boundaries in this regard.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

This is a medical and family matter that can be outsourced to local hospital and clinics. There are staff members within all districts, school psychologists and/or guidance counselors that are able to provide resources for such matters but this is not the responsibility of the classroom educators.
Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Neutral
I think what is more important are clear and defined expectations for all students. If those expectations are not met then an appropriate disciplinary action should be taken to correct the behavior. Every experience is a learning experience so educating the student on why rules are set is an important part of the process.
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?
Yes
I believe all subject matter being presented in a classroom should be available to parents and the community.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Agree
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Choose not to answer
Diversity, equity and inclusion should be a long standing staple of how we as a society treat one another instead of only becoming a hot topic item in recent year merely in response to popular culture.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Agree
School choice should be the right of every parent.
Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?
Equality of opportunities. It is how you capitalize of those opportunities that shows a person's level of dedication and drive.
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
(B) Opt-In. So only those who want this material taught should be provided class.
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My spiritual beliefs are characterized by my Christian faith. My moral compass and values are built upon the foundation of my beliefs. My approach to my day to day life and how I manage relationships is guided by my strong faith.
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
I personally believe it is the responsibility of the parent to provide sexual education to a child. Each family will have varying beliefs and a blank course cannot take all of those variations into account so this type of education should be provided in the home. If it is provided in the school setting, it should be at an Opt-In if you want to lesson verses the assumption that all students will receive the education.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
