QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

As a pro-life candidate, I do not believe taxpayer dollars should be used to support organizations that provide abortions. I believe those resources are better directed toward prenatal and maternal healthcare, adoption services, and programs that support women, children, and families before, during, and after pregnancy.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I am pro-life and believe elective abortion should generally not be permitted. At the same time, I recognize the extraordinarily difficult circumstances involving rape, incest, or a serious threat to the physical health or life of the mother. I believe the law should provide appropriate exceptions for those circumstances while protecting unborn life to the greatest extent possible.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I believe every human life is precious and deserving of dignity and protection. This is deeply personal to me because I am the product of rape. I understand that circumstances surrounding conception can be painful and difficult, but those circumstances do not determine the value of the life that results. We can protect life while showing compassion and providing meaningful support to women and families facing difficult circumstances.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Agree

I believe human life has inherent value regardless of how it is conceived, including embryos created through assisted reproductive technologies. I also recognize the deeply personal and difficult circumstances families facing infertility experience. I believe we should pursue policies that respect and protect embryonic human life while ensuring families can continue to access ethical fertility treatments and build their families.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Agree

I believe in the rule of law. If a law remains on the books and is legally applicable, it should be faithfully enforced. If the Comstock Act is outdated, unclear, or no longer reflects the policy Congress believes is appropriate, then Congress should debate it openly and amend or repeal it through the legislative process and not simply choose not to enforce it.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I support wages driven by a strong economy and competition, not blanket government mandates. As a small business owner, I know mandatory wage hikes can raise costs, reduce jobs and hours, and put unnecessary strain on small businesses.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise and private property rights are fundamental to individual liberty and economic opportunity. As a small business owner, I believe people should have the freedom to own property, build a business, compete, create jobs, and succeed through their own hard work. Government should respect those freedoms and avoid unnecessary interference with private property, enterprise, and entrepreneurship.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

My priorities are eliminating duplicative or outdated programs, cutting unnecessary administrative overhead, regularly reviewing spending to ensure taxpayer dollars produce results, increasing transparency in state spending and contracts, and directing resources toward frontline services instead of bureaucracy. Government should budget like families and businesses do. Set priorities, cut waste, and make every dollar count.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

To me, separation of church and state means government should not establish a religion or create laws imposing a particular faith. At the same time, people of faith have the same right as anyone else to have their voices and beliefs represented in our republic. Everyone should be free to worship as they choose, or not worship at all, so long as they are not harming others or forcing their beliefs upon them.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

I believe government should be extremely cautious about compelling any individual or private organization to provide a service that violates their sincerely held religious or moral beliefs. Religious liberty and freedom of conscience are fundamental rights protected by the First Amendment. Government should not force anyone to go against their deeply held convictions as a condition of participating in society or doing business.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Option C. I believe Medicare and Medicaid should remain available for the people these programs were designed to serve. At the same time, I do not support government-run universal healthcare or expanding taxpayer-funded healthcare to everyone. We should focus on making healthcare more affordable and accessible through competition, transparency, and patient choice while protecting the existing safety net for those who need it.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

I do not believe government should maintain a database identifying citizens by their ongoing medical conditions simply to calculate economic costs. Medical information is deeply personal, and individual privacy should be protected. Government can evaluate healthcare costs and trends using anonymous, aggregated data without creating a database that unnecessarily connects private medical information to individual citizens.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

While many issues involving China are matters of federal policy, Missouri still has a responsibility to protect our state’s interests. As a state legislator, my focus would be protecting critical infrastructure and sensitive data, safeguarding Missouri businesses and intellectual property, strengthening our supply chains, and carefully examining foreign ownership or influence involving state resources and taxpayer dollars.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The United States’ relationship with Israel and other nations is primarily a matter of federal foreign policy. I am running to represent the people of Missouri’s 135th District, not for federal office. My responsibility as a state representative would be to stay focused on the issues Missouri can directly address and on the needs of the people I am elected to serve.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

We are a nation of laws, and those laws should be enforced consistently. Someone may be working, supporting a family, and otherwise obeying the law, but entering or remaining in the country unlawfully does not make their immigration status legal. I do not support sanctuary policies that intentionally obstruct lawful immigration enforcement. Immigration laws should be enforced while treating every person with dignity and humanity.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

Education decisions should be made as close to students, parents, teachers, and communities as possible. I support returning greater control of education to states and local communities rather than maintaining a large federal bureaucracy. Missouri should have the flexibility to determine how best to educate our children, with parents and local educators having a stronger voice in those decisions.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

American education should serve American students, families, and communities without financial influence from foreign governments. Schools and universities should remain accountable to the people and communities they serve. I support protecting our educational institutions from foreign government funding that could create conflicts of interest, influence curriculum or research, or compromise our national and economic interests.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

I am a strong supporter of parental rights. Parents have the fundamental right and responsibility to direct their children’s education, healthcare, and overall well-being. Government should never seek to replace the role of a parent. Schools and public institutions should respect parents, provide transparency, and work in partnership with families. Parents and not the government should remain the primary decision-makers in raising their children.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

I believe every child is beautifully and wonderfully created and deserves to be loved, affirmed, and encouraged to be comfortable with who they are. In my view, physically, medically, or socially transitioning a child crosses the line into child abuse. Children should not carry adult beliefs or decisions with potentially lasting consequences. Our responsibility is to protect children, support them with compassion, and give them the time to grow and mature.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

My personal belief is that marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman. At the same time, same-sex marriage is legal under current law, and I respect the rule of law. Government recognition of a marriage does not require me to change my personal or religious beliefs, just as my beliefs should not be forced upon someone else. Government cannot dictate what I believe, nor should it dictate another person’s faith or conscience.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Agree

I believe adults should generally be free to make informed decisions about how they spend their own money, including gambling. Government should not exist to morally regulate every personal choice. If gambling is conducted honestly, transparently, and with appropriate safeguards against fraud or manipulation, I am open to responsible expansion, particularly when Missouri can capture revenue that would otherwise leave our state.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a man of faith who believes in God and strives to live a Christ-like life rooted in compassion, service, humility, and respect for others. My journey with faith has not always been easy. After serving overseas and seeing humanity at some of its worst, I struggled with my faith for many years. Building a family and experiencing life at its most beautiful helped bring me back. I believe we are all beautifully and wonderfully made by an intelligent Creator, with individual worth and free will. My faith guides how I try to live and serve others, while respecting that every person must walk their own path.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Voting is one of our most fundamental rights and carries tremendous responsibility. We require identification for many important activities, including exercising certain other constitutional rights. I believe requiring a valid photo ID to verify that a voter is who they claim to be is a reasonable safeguard that protects election integrity, strengthens public confidence, and helps ensure every lawful vote is protected and counted.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

I do not believe government should distribute benefits or impose burdens based on race. We cannot undo the injustices of the past by dividing people today according to race. Our responsibility is to learn from that history and build a future where every child, regardless of race or background, has access to opportunity and the chance to begin life on equal footing. We should heal divisions, not create new ones.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

As a father, I believe women and girls deserve fairness, safety, privacy, and spaces of their own. Biological differences between men and women are real, especially in athletics. Women fought hard for equal opportunities in sports, and those protections should not be erased. Women’s sports should remain for biological females, and women should not be forced to sacrifice privacy or safety in locker rooms, shelters, prisons, or other sex-specific spaces.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Disagree

I recognize that human activity can impact our environment and believe we have a responsibility to be good stewards of our natural resources. At the same time, Earth’s climate has always experienced natural changes and cycles. I do not view climate change as an existential crisis requiring sweeping government mandates. We should pursue practical conservation, reduce pollution, protect our environment, and balance those efforts with economic realities.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

I believe energy diversification is the key to a reliable grid. We should utilize coal, natural gas, nuclear, solar, wind, and emerging technologies rather than depend on one source. Reliability, affordability, and energy security should come first.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I believe in limited government, fiscal responsibility, individual liberty, free enterprise, parental rights, religious freedom, strong families, and the Constitution. I am pro-life and believe government should protect our rights, not dictate how we live. At the same time, I approach each issue on its merits rather than blindly following an ideology. I believe good government requires common sense, accountability, compassion, and a willingness to listen.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The criminal justice system should hold offenders accountable, protect our communities, and deliver justice for victims while recognizing the value of rehabilitation. Punishment should fit the crime rather than rely on blanket mandatory sentences. People must face consequences, but those who serve their time, take responsibility, and genuinely work to turn their lives around should have the opportunity to rebuild, contribute to their communities, and become productive citizens.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

As a father of four and someone who experienced abuse during my 14 years in foster care, protecting children from exploitation is deeply personal to me. Children are among the most vulnerable members of our society, and we have an absolute responsibility to protect them. Government should aggressively combat online sexual exploitation, provide law enforcement the tools and resources to identify and stop predators, prevent further victimization, and hold offenders fully accountable.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

My position is consistent with my belief in the separation of church and state. Americans are free to practice any faith and live according to their beliefs, but no one should be forced to live according to another person’s religion. No religious doctrine or legal code should supersede constitutionally protected rights and freedoms. Our laws should remain constitutional and apply equally to every American, regardless of faith.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I believe the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms, and I do not support restrictions that infringe upon that right. Constitutional rights inherently come with responsibilities and some degree of risk; eliminating all risk would mean eliminating liberty itself. I support responsible gun ownership and would be open to voluntary firearm safety education, especially for first-time owners, but not as a government-imposed barrier to exercising a constitutional right.
