QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
To protect the life of the mother.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
We fought the American Revolution to escape the concept of Fiefdoms and Feudal Lords...we should not allow the Government or anyone else to take over private property or free enterprise.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
The less government involvement the better off all concerned will be in the long run. We see that minimum wage has created an endless cycle of higher prices that are ultimately going to hurt all concerned.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
Absolutely not! There should be zero such system in place as it is a Marxist program.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
There is never a circumstance where the government has the authority to violate the First Amendment.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
In a free market system, privately run businesses and individuals are free to perform in the market as they see fit. Privately owned businesses who refuse to serve others will suffer the consequences of lost customers and revenue.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C, with the ultimate goal of phasing out Medicaid and Medicare until all government healthcare programs are replaced with a private healthcare system where competition drives better treatment options. I would also recommend that we require medical facilities to post the charges for each procedure so that all bills are itemized, and patients can shop for the best and most affordable treatment options. This information should also include the outcomes of patient treatment.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Vaccinations for Polio and other long tested and approved shots can be required for those in public sector jobs like teachers, medical professionals, etc. However, there should be exemptions allowed for religious and health reasons.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
China is the number one threat to the United States outside of the infiltration of our Southern Border.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
It is an essential relationship as we are partnered with the only Democracy in the Middle East and that relationship must be maintained. If we have any hope of creating a stable Middle East, it must come from the example set by Israel.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
I believe the gravest threat to our national security is from the invasion at our Southern Border. It must be addressed immediately, or we are going to be attacked by terrorist who have entered our nation illegally. We are seeing a massive uptick in deaths from drugs like fentanyl coming across the border, human trafficking, and violent individuals.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
These right ends if the parent is attempting to make a life altering decision but not life-threatening decision for their child such as gender reassignment surgery. That type of procedure must wait until the child is of age and can determine for themselves what measures they wish to undertake.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Elective surgeries should be at the cost of those who wish to have them. This is no different than a person seeking breast augmentation surgery or other nonessential surgery.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am an evangelical Christian.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
We need to verify who is voting so as to protect voter integrity.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Disagree
The Electoral College is not perfect but the NPVIC would be foolish.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No, there exist now an opportunity to achieve success regardless of race. This is born out repeatedly by the number of people seeking to come to the United States for the "American Dream."
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
This is antithetical to all our Nation holds dear and it creates a class system that is destructive to our children and our national identity.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
As a former college athlete and college coach, this is one of my most fervent issues and I will not compromise one inch. If transgender individuals wish to create a transgender league, so be it but stay out of women's sports!
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
C, but there must be some measure of oversight as humans are naturally driven to take short cuts to increase their bottom line. The best system of checks and balances is at the State level rather than at the federal level.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Until we discover some other option, fossil fuels remain the most reliable and efficient source.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Protect the God given rights of citizens, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense and establish justice.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Our LEOs are already underpaid and understaffed, redirecting funds to other programs is a risk we should not undertake.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Felony convictions and/or violent criminals should be prohibited or restricted from owning guns.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
No
As a retired teacher, there are those who are a danger to themselves and others carrying a pair of scissors. Only individuals who are well and routinely trained should be able to carry a gun in a school setting.
