RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Whether in the individual states, or under a new Federal law, a reasonable compromise is in order to bring the nation together on this subject. I am suggesting that the majority of Americans would agree to a compromise such as: abortions will be allowed up to 15 weeks at the mother’s discretion and that abortions beyond 15 weeks should only be performed in cases of risks to mother’s health, rape, incest, or severe health issues of the baby .
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Choose not to answer
I don’t have adequate information on this subject to weigh in.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I agree. The government should not be paying for abortions. The government should not be advocating for abortions. Insurance should pay for abortions in cases of health risks. In cases of rape or incest, these should be reported to authorities, and social services should be able to help fund an abortion if necessary for the woman.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
I support this in extreme circumstances. i.e. when a person is diagnosed with a terminal condition and has less than a few months to live.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Minimum wage should be a guideline for employers based on the type of job.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
If there is fraud and it is proven that the church is a front for some other entity. Great care should be taken in all cases.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
E. Medicare and Medicaid should remain available. Some kind of “Safety Net” insurance should be available for those deemed “uninsurable” based on their condition.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
This should be rare. Schools/employers should be able to provide students/employees with separate accommodations if there is a controversy. If the vaccine is not controversial, tried and tested, then no special accommodations should be required.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes! They are a very important ally. We have similar beliefs regarding god-given rights and personal freedoms. They are strategically positioned for intelligence gathering and potential offensive tactics if that becomes necessary.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Disagree
The term Marriage is generally accepted in the United States as a temporal term defined by governments and cultures. Christianity, based on the Bible, defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe everyone has value, as a son or daughter of God. I believe that God has provided this earth for his children to learn and grow. I believe that God has a plan for each of us, His children, to return to live with Him. I believe that families are the greatest gift from God and that families can continue intact through eternity. I believe that each of us should strive to improve ourselves and become as independent as possible. With this strength of independence, we are in a better position to serve and so, should serve others in need, and help others become independent as well.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
NO – there are many ways to obtain photo identification so it should not be a barrier.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
NO! The Electoral College is extremely important to protect the voices of the less populated, smaller states. Without the Electoral College, the larger metropolitan interests in New York and California would always prevail, to the detriment of the country as a whole.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism has been over-accused these past several years. The United States had made tremendous progress in putting racism behind us. The vast majority of Americans believe people of all colors have equal rights, and in fact, don’t even reference race or color in their day-to-day lives. Racism has been re-introduced recently as a big problem. This is contrary to that same vast majority just mentioned. We need to report real statistics and not assume a racial motive.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
NO. The United States and its institutions are not fundamentally racist.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
E. Stricter environmental laws may undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. Any environmental laws must weigh the cost to the environment and the negative impact to the growth of humanity. I believe in the ingenuity of American Scientists! Rather than only focusing on eliminating C02 emissions, we should research, develop and invest in options that support the long-term health and viability of humanity.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear in viable sites, water from the mountains sent via pipeline, systems to capture the energy produced by moving water, continued drilling and fracking for oil with more refining to be the largest world supplier as we are the cleanest producer.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
1. Provide for common defense, provide law and order – protect citizens rights and safety 2. Provide infrastructure and services needed by all that cannot be provided by the individual i.e. trash pick-up, roads, currency standards, public transportation, zoning, records of land ownership, etc. 3. Social Welfare/Safety Nets for citizens that cannot provide for themselves due to illness, disability, age, lack of support system.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Personal freedoms are very important and must be balanced with social and cultural norms. The middle class is the Heart of America and must be nurtured. A healthy, robust Middle Class is the best help to pull up the poorer class and prevent the uber class from imposing its will. Government should be run by service politicians - not career politicians. Immigrants should assimilate American values as part of any requirements to gain citizenship.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
In all cases, guns must be locked up, inaccessible to children and visitors. Existing laws are adequate.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
Yes, if the teacher has a license and has completed the required training – and the gun is secured appropriately.
