Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
If I am elected to state representative, my oath of office is to represent the voters of my district and to carry their voices. However, if asked what my personal views are, I will say that my core values are from a Judeo Christian worldview and the Hebrew bible. Therefore, as a Christian chaplain, I believe that we are made in the image of God and that human life begins at conception.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Chemical drugs that induce a medical abortion should be monitored for the bodily safety of and a life saving measure for any woman.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Increasing minimum wage in the food industry will force businesses to reduce hours and hike food prices resulting in fewer people dining out. This will price a family of four from dining out. It is not a sustainable solution.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?
According to the U.S. constitution, no government shall have the right to interfere with religious freedom and the freedom to assemble on private property.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. The government mandate to require vaccinations during the pandemic resulted in adverse affects or death. The full extent and ill-affects are are unknown from this new and untested drug. It was dangerous experiment.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
From my biblical worldview my answer is yes. The Jewish State and the United States have long historical ties that should not be dissolved. The U.S.A has been blessed as a result of maintaining and honoring this relationship.

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Over 10 million people have come across the border with no vetting, no plan, and no path during Biden’s presidency. We don't know where they are or what they are doing.

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

As a chaplain with my biblical worldview, my core values support a biblical definition for marriage. The United States of American was founded as a Christian nation and U.S. constitution was founded by individuals who held Judeo Christian values. No government should have the authority to alter this definition.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My decision to become a chaplain with the International Fellowship of Chaplains is a calling. My chaplaincy mission is to serve all people regardless of religious preference or no preference and includes all people including the LGBTQ. I base my moral and core values on the Hebrew Bible and my principles from the U.S. Constitution. Both these documents frame my personal views and affirm my position on government and religion. As a leader, these documents have provided the structure for my personal moral code and business ethics. Both documents have shaped my views on love and respect for family which includes members of the LGBTQ. They are the framework for my views on foreign and domestic policy, free enterprise, and criminal justice.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.

It is a strange phenomenon that our election process which is required to determine our government leadership does not demand a government photo identification when any business that involves a service of value requires the individual to be legally identified before they can obtain service.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

I disagree with the structure of the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. For example, a popular vote would allow for a fringe candidate to win a Presidential election through a popular vote. This is highly concerning.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is not a threat to the domestic security. The high number of undocumented aliens who enter this country illegally and choose to disregard the citizenship process and not become a naturalized citizen who is sworn to protect our nation is a growing threat to our national security. The U.S. citizenship process does not discriminate. However, illegal immigrants who maintain allegiance to their country of origin is a threat our sovereign nation.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

I speak from personal experience of a family member who as a child was overpowered and raped in a gender neutral bathroom. It is an unsafe practice to allow a physically smaller person to share a personal space with a member of the opposite sex for any reason.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Fossil fuels and natural gas are the most reliable energy sources. Wind and solar energies are dependent upon the weather. They have costly infrastructure and require a back-up energy source during extended and prolonger weather interruptions.

As framed in our U.S. Constitution the general purpose of our government was established to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

I live in the International District NM District 19 renamed from the colloquial warzone. Human trafficking, drug trafficking of fentanyl, and sex crimes have accumulated dangerously along the Central Ave corridor as direct result of an open boarder. Gangs and cartels are conducting illegal business on our streets. We need the police and the police need every resource available to combat crime for the safety of the residents, businesses and children who call the International District home.

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I support the current law on gun ownership and believe that it is sufficiently restrictive.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
No
As a former special education teacher, my view is that adding the responsibility of a live firearm to protect the students is an unrealistic duty for most educators to master. I entered the field to teach which did not include training for public safety. Adding dedicated and highly trained security with protocols to patrol the grounds is more logical. I have a personal protection firearm and understand the training, maintenance, and responsibility that I undertake as a gun owner.
