ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Neutral

It's an individuals responsibility to work and earn income, but I believe the government should play a role to ensure that employers are paying livable wages.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

Public education should come from public funds.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.

Agree

The First Amendment prevents the government from creating or establishing a religion, and thereby prevents the power of the government from expanding beyond civil matters. The First Amendment also protects people's right to worship however they choose, or to not worship any God at all.

At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.

Agree

If there is a discussion going on that pertains to matters of conscience and faith, then sure. I believe in freedom of speech. However, if there is not a conversation taking place, students do not have the right to infringe on others religious beliefs.

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Agree

As a teacher myself, I have to ensure I am teaching in neutrality and teaching from a place that comes from the scientific perspective as church and state are seperate.

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.
