QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
First and foremost, I acknowledge that abortion is a very personal, highly complex and controversial issue that demands respect and sensitivity to each person's stance Pro Life Vs Pro Choice. Therefore, I believe no organization that profits from abortion care should ever receive taxpayer funds. Everyone pays taxes but not everyone believes in abortion. Persons that support abortion care have every right to donate their own funds.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Agree
An informed decision is critical when making responsible healthcare decisions. Chemical abortion drugs are drugs! Therefore, as is standard for all drugs should meet mandatory safety and reporting standards regarding reactions and outcomes
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I acknowledge that abortion is a very personal, highly complex and controversial issue that demands respect and sensitivity to each person's stance. I believe that elective abortion should be allowed as it relates to each state's established laws regarding abortion. Oregon has no Right to Life Laws in place and that is wrong, I believe in waiting periods, mandatory education on alternatives to abortion and restrictions on late term abortions.
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
Again, I acknowledge that abortion is very personal and the decision to have an abortion is specific to each person's individualized experience. I do not support the federal government having any role in limiting one's rights to have an abortion. I do believe that the federal government has the absolute right to regulate abortion care facilities in an attempt to standardize care, including mandatory wait periods with exception to life threatening circumstances, mandatory education in alternatives to abortion, mandatory informed consents, mandatory after abortion care. Again, the federal government should not ban abortion or limit fertility rights.
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
100% support measures that would repeal unfair tax burden to middle class and small business owners. Support fair wages that do not cripple small businesses and incentivize big businesses return to and or remain in Oregon.
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Agree
Only existing student loan forgiveness should continue as it incentivizes persons to follow career paths that assist in fulfilling critical needs, such as but not limited to healthcare and law enforcement. However total student loan forgiveness is unfair ex. a plumber or restaurant worker with limited potential for income earning and who does not have a student loan burden should never be forced to pay for example, a surgeon with unlimited ceiling for income and a high student loan burden.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
The Idea of ESG on the outset appeals to most people because most people agree that accountability is important however ESG ratings and indices has evolved in such a way that it no longer indicates a company's positive impact on environment and society but a way to shape a company to conform to societal norms with standards not set by stockholders. Companies are responsible to their stockholders not to boards that rate a company on their carbon footprint.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
State should not govern someone's own individual and personal relationship with the church, nor should it be in government.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Most vaccinations have been proven to be effective in preventing disease however not every person can take a vaccine due to health and or religious beliefs thus exemptions should be mandatory to government, school, employer vaccine requirements.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Everyone should have the right to affordable healthcare period! This is accomplished by oversite in healthcare costs and assuring that affordable healthcare insurance is available both by the government and by private healthcare options.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
As a nation mostly of immigrants who have fled countries governed by tyranny, we have a responsibility to assist when freedom of another country's citizens are threatened but never at the risk of our own sovereignty and avoid conflicts of war at all costs.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
The Unites States has always had a relationship with Israel and as they are an ally and a democratic nation, the Unites States has a moral obligation to continue to support its relationship with Israel.
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
It is well known that recruitment and retention in the military is at a crisis level. It is critical to address reported problems of decline in general workforce, military pay, failed leadership and lack of addressing mental health issues such as depression and PTSD as well as veteran services.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
A secure border is #1 Priority of U.S. citizens as such the Unites States federal government has an absolute obligation to the citizens of the Unites States to keep our borders secure. Without a secured border we have no country, this is not a partisan issue.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
All persons should be allowed to immigrate safely and responsibly to the U.S. legally for any reason. However, one should only be allowed to immigrate following legal processes to assure appropriate vetting.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
Every child and family situation is unique. There should be more options for families as relates to freedoms concerning education. Additionally, school choice allows for greater equity to access especially allowing students to travel outside of their district. Allows for competitiveness which can lead to better efficiency, stewardship of federal dollars and better outcomes.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Choose not to answer
I support downsizing the U.S. Department of Education. I support maximum accountability and ensuring students are meeting all benchmarks, higher education standards and graduation requirements.
VALUES
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Disagree
One can marry whomever they please government should not be allowed to define who can marry whom.
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian and belief in one's own personal relationship with their God or Higher Being. I believe in hard work, honesty and integrity. I believe in lifting others but never at the expense of another.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Disagree
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Agree
While I recognize that it is important to acknowledge all person's rights to identify as they choose and more needs to be done to assure that all person rights are fairly represented, as a woman it is important I acknowledge that a biological male that has reached puberty should not participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces as currently it violates women's rights.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Neutral
Responsible climate change reforms are essential but not mandating or disproportionately affecting those who cannot afford mandates, taxes etc. Global accountability is essential.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Hydro energy, solar, nuclear
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Government should be limited to representation of citizens only. For the people by the People.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
NO
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
NO
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
It is important to realize that criminal behavior cannot be reformed by restricting gun rights. Do not take guns out of law-abiding citizens. the 2nd Amendment should be protected. Every effort should be made to keep guns out of the hands of criminals but not at the expense of limiting the 2nd Amendment.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
No Felons should own a gun. Do not take guns out of law-abiding citizens.
