From Courtney Oliver's staff review: My overall thought was that his view on the sanctity of life- abortions through first trimester, abortion drugs and aide in dying made me lean toards LnL.
I have peer reviewed and think he is either M or LnL. He is quite liberal on almost all social issues, even having "Gay Rights" as one of the issue sections on his web page. In addition to the issues mentioned by Courtney, he also wants the Electoral College done away with; #7 supports minimum wage; was weak on parental rights; had a terrible answer on marriage (#20); weak on 2nd Amendment; #9 gov't can close churches same as any other businesses; neutral on people being required to provide services against their consciences. The only times he sounds conservative are about gender ideology, photo i.d. for voting, pro school choice and free enterprise, and had a good answer on racism threat--however, if you look at his survey in total, he has a lot of 100% or 75% answers. If you average all the survey answer scores, it comes to 57%.

The constant differentiation between people based on race, and characterization of people based on their race such as always asking for race on applications and other forms where it is simply not necessary is driving a wedge in society. If we continue to divide ourselves, and refuse to come together, we will fail as a country.

None of the above; I care deeply about the environment, and it needs to be protected. However, we need to balance this with not making ourselves dependent on other countries. There is a critical point, where more environmental regulations mean that companies will have to leave the US to do business. We need to stop before this critical point so as not to hurt US businesses. In terms of energy, the answer is clear. All US government funded projects need to be nuclear; it is clean and economical.

I believe that that police need to be adequately funded, but that we are in serious need of criminal justice reform. We need programs that support reintegration such as prison pre-release programs. Additionally, we need to re-evaluate all of the current daily occurrences where police will have conflict oriented interactions with normal people, such as speeding and red light stops. Speeding stops need to be largely replaces with speed cameras. My intent with this is to reduce confrontation.

I had to take a hunters safety course before I was able to hunt; all gun owners should have to take a gun safety course before they are allowed to purchase a gun. I am in support of universal background checks as well. Lastly, I am tentatively in support of safe storage laws. The majority of guns used in crimes are stolen; ensuring guns are harder to steal should reduce the likelihood that a gun can be stolen in the first place.
