QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I believe in a woman's right to make her own healthcare decisions within the framework of the law. Law that ensures that women have access to safe and legal options with the framework of Georgia's law is critical to their safety and well-being. I value life and take an approach that offers compassion to women. Assuring truly informed consent requires a discussion about risks, alternatives, and resources so her decision making is based upon all available information.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise facilitates and enables individuals and businesses to create and produce the best for the economy. I believe that when they are productive or enterprising, they can exercise freedom to pursue what the economy or society values most highly and most compatible for our people by our people/produced in the US. We, the people as consumers buy/vote with our dollars direct production and what we want businesses/entrepreneurs to provide for us (our consumer sovereignty).

What is your position on the minimum wage?

It is important to understand the relationship between monetary policy decisions by the Federal Reserve and minimum wage changes. The elimination of all market forces from determination of any minimum wages would be poor economic policy.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

Yes

I advocate for transparency and accountability in how public monies are invested, ensuring that decisions are made based on clear, objective financial criteria rather than subjective motivated decisions. Businesses should be free to pursue ESG strategies on their own if they believe it benefits their shareholders, but that the government nor mandate or prioritize these criteria when investing taxpayer funds. Public funds must be managed prudently with a focus on financial performance.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

The government could arguably close a church when its practices and actions violate the law, however, the threshold for closure should be high. US courts have recognized the autonomy of religious organizations to govern themselves free from government interference. The Constitution, and the Religious Freedom Act provides that the government may not substantially burden a person's exercise of religion unless it is the least restrictive means of furthering a compelling governmental interest.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Agree that US-Israel relationship is crucial and strategic for economic, commercial. military and foreign relations.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Urgently

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Agree

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My spiritual beliefs and values are personal. Those personal values are my core principles that drive and influence my vision, goals and relationships in my life. These values derive from my faith as a Christian and an American citizen aspiring to be a good citizen and to live by and see as having worth. These values help me navigate compatibility with others and communicate and share what's important to me and to them. Transparency, empathy, dependability, generosity, courage, gratitude, integrity and family values are some of my personal core values. At community and national level, I believe the most meaningful beliefs and values for us as US citizens derive from our Constitution.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Disagree

NPV would eliminate the power of a state to determine who it votes for if the state voted for one candidate.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is not a threat but a destructive issue at all levels of society that must be eliminate urgently.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Neutral

I believe that racism is a real and painful part of our history and unfortunately, still affects many people today. However, I don't agree with the idea that our entire society is fundamentally or systematically racist. My focus will be on policies that uplift all individuals by addressing family issues, economic opportunities, personal responsibility while also ensuring that we continue to combat discrimination in all its forms.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

None of the above.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Natural gas and oil (since we have a lot here in the US).

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To protect individual rights, ensure national defense, maintain order and justice, promote the general welfare. Government exists to create a stable environment where people can live freely and pursue their own goals, also providing the necessary structures to resolve disputes, enforce laws, and defend the nation from external threats. To balance power, prevent tyranny, operate with the consent of the governed, ensure its actions serve the common good without infringing on personal liberties.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

I think that one should not be pushed to identify with one of the boxes in this instance. I believe it is important to expand one's perspectives for informed decision-making through considering multiple perspectives and broadening the understanding of economic to social to foreign and religious liberty. In my view, my response would place myself on your spectrum as between Moderate to Lean Conservative.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Agree

Transferring resources from the police departments to community programs doesn't mean "defund the police".

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The Second Amendment guarantees the fundamental, individual right to keep arms for all law-abiding Americans. Accordingly, common-sense public policy for responsible gun ownership would be compatible with gun safety.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

The idea of arming teachers is worth investigating in this day and age. States and districts should consider as a last line of defense in a school shooting that teachers be trained and have access to guns. The bigger question and issues remain is to build peace, nurture love and understanding, anger management, address mental health issues within our homes, neighborhood, communities and districts so that people do not respond with gun violence.
