QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Decisions about medical care should be between the person receiving the care and the person performing the care. Insurance companies get involved because of medical necessity, but if a person has the finances for a procedure that they are seeking, That decision should be between the involved parties.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Disagree

Yes, chemically introduced drugs should meet the standards of any other drug being introduced for public consumption, but the reporting of symptoms, outcomes and otherwise should be up to the person receiving the treatment and the authorized physician prescribing the treatment. Unless the treatment is somehow being subsidized by a 3rd party, no additional requirements should be imposed.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

If any entity meets the requirements for such funding, they should receive such funding. We often find ourselves getting into the qualifications of entities that we have no say in. Every day, our tax dollars are spent on something that we may or may not approve of.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Agree

This is decision between a caregiver and one receiving the care. Unless it involves someone else's money, It is no one else's business what care they choose.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I think that a minimum wage should be commensurate to the job being performed. I also believe that a hamburger should not cost $30. There should be a way to control quality while also paying the person providing the service appropriately.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

Yes

I also believe that those Ratings need to be reviewed as circumstances change and evolve.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

When they operate outside of legal definitions of a church. If you meet the agreed upon definition, you should be able to operate.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

In a free market economy, you do not have to provide services to anyone that you do not want to. If you receive monies or preferential tax treatment from a municipality that taxes or otherwise gives breaks to an establishment, they need to accommodate everyone paying taxes into that taxing entity.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B. Basic Healthcare should be required by the state for anyone that wants it, but Private options should be available for private purchase.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

As a matter of Public Health, vaccinations should be required to suppress the recurrence of debilitating and preventable disease. If a person chooses to decline a vaccination, they are subject to the outcomes of that lack of vaccination.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

All industrialized nations pose a threat to our National intellectual property. We should be vigilent with any and all.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

No less important than any other relationship with a country. What I can say is that all people deserve the right to exist without suppression by a better financed supporter.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Agree

The southern border is extremely important, and the policies that govern all borders need to be reviewed and adjustments need to be made.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Disagree

Until the rules are changed. If tax dollars are being taken for public education, they should be spent on public education. School districts and the taxing authority they maintain is an ever evolving system and should be reviewed and adjusted as needs evolve and change.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

I 100% believe that the Bible describes a marriage as a union between a man and woman, but a civil union for the sake of insurance, transfer of property, or otherwise should not be disallowed because of biblical belief. Civil unions should be able to exist for all the same purposes.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian and believe that we we need to be aware of our interpretations of the Bible. We often confuse the old and the new testament to our own ideology. if it fits, it applies, if it does not, then we throw it out. We need to be cautiously aware of all of it and not just what fits today.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

I believe that people voting need to provide identification proving who they are for voter integrity, but that should not be limited to photo identification. They do need to have identification from a trusted issuing authority. If I can vote with a gun license, I should be able to vote with a student ID. The same standards need to apply.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Agree

I believe that the rules around voting have unfortunately been corrupted to whomever has the most money wins. We need to re-address how we elect our representation at all levels. Enforce voter intimidation laws and other civil rights laws that are currently on the books.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes. We have placed a great deal of significance on the pigment of a persons skin and less on the intent or the content of their character. Ignorance fuels fear and fear fuels the proliferation of misinformation and disinformation. Tribalism is the standard of the day. The attitude of " I only want "my team" to win." is outdated and not the way a healthy social society should function. The objective should matter more than the person it came from.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Critical Race Theory does not assert that the US is fundamentally racist. We have assigned that character trait to the re-telling of actual history. it happened, whether you agree with it or not, it happened. The displacement of indigenous individuals, slavery, the holocaust. They are actual documented historical events. How those events makes you feel is not something that demands legislation.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Agree

I want to be clear on this that If Biological Males should not be in a female space, then Biological females should not be in a male space. I do not want to confuse the point. We live in a time where the rules on gender identity are hurting people.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

I believe renewable energy is the key to the future of electricity. Now how we achieve that is up to scientists and research and development. We need to incentivize it like any other fuel business.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

NO

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

NO

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Representative Government is supposed to represent the interests of the people, not the other way around. We currently live in an environment where shareholders rule government decisions. If its publicly traded, it gets special consideration. We need to re-establish a government that is for the people, not just a select few that have the means to participate.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Liberal

Government is for the masses and not every one has to agree on the rules, but if the rules are for the benefit of the whole, then we need to accept the rules. We have to remember that rules can change when the environment changes. We do not need rules for problems that are no longer problems and we need to be willing to create rules when there are new challenges to address.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Disagree

I am against the notion of "Defunding" the police. Municipalities create budgets, those budgets need to reflect the needs of the communities they govern. Police, fire and waste are services that are absolutely essential to a functioning society. The Police need every dollar they can get, Fire needs every dollar they can get and waste needs every dollar they can get. It is up to the representation that we elect to shoulder the responsibility of where the budget dollars are directed.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

If you own it, you should have a license for it. it should be registered to you and you should be responsible for it. You can't drive a car, fly a plane or drive a Semi-Truck without a license, you should not be able to own a deadly weapon without a license showing that you are the licensed, registered owner of said weapon.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

Much like with the first question, if you are licensed to own it and responsible for it, you should be able to carry it. Now, just like at police departments and court houses, weapons need to be in locked containers in certain areas. Schools should be no different.
