QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Direct them to trusted agencies (i.e. Lutheran family practice)
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
It is the government responsibility to ensure social security is secure. I believe each person is responsible for their livelihood. Our support needs to be in the area for vocational educations, to help those who have lost jobs. Entitlement has never served a community well.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
States should provide PK-12 education. Education is an opportunity not an entitlement. I do not support government funded College tuition.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.
Neutral
We will never mandate the Christian Faith or morality. I believe this is a local board decision. I believe people would rather see a sermon that hear one.
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Strongly Agree
The key word here is “civilly”. School are a place to teach students how to think, not what to think.
Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Agree
In Nebraska, the mandated curriculum relates to ELA, Math and Science. I do not feel anyone should object to these areas. If the material selected is deemed inappropriate for students, the teacher should have a suitable replacement. With the current teacher shortage, a school should have the option of hiring a substitute for these areas.
NATIONAL SECURITY
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Israel is our lone ally in the Middle East, We better hold on to it.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
A strong military is the starting point, but diplomacy should always be our first course of action.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Neutral
I agree with the above statement, as I believe decisions are best made at the state and more importantly the local level. However, there are funding issues that are directed from the Federal gov't, and these issues would need to be addressed prior to removing the U.S. Department of Education.
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Disagree
I am an advocate of parochial schools, I believe is school Choice, however state funding should stay with public schools. When all schools follow the same rules and guidelines this is a different conversation. Such as, private/parochial schools do qualify for State and Federal funding in the areas of Title programs and Special Education, because they have to follow the same requirements.
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
B. Opt-Out. (Unless transgender, issues are being taught, then I would say (a) Opt-In.
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
These are family decisions and should be directed toward the families.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
Language Arts "Reading", Mathematics, (American History, Civics), Science, Personal Finances, (Physical Fitness, Art & Music)
VALUES
Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming including drag shows, explicit materials in schools and libraries, and other public venues.
Strongly Agree
Marriage between one man and one woman and the families they form are the foundation of civilization and are fundamental to the well-being and prosperity of society.
Strongly Agree
Yet, as a educator for over 30 years, we should educate all Kids regardless of their parent's marital status.
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.
Agree
There may be an exception, as I have dealt with as it related to a healthcare diagnosis, that the parents would not attend any meetings.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian, Involved in church weekly. I have taken mission trips to Kenya (Navigators) and Guatemala and service trips to Idaho, Mississippi (Hands of Hope), Oklahoma (Orphan Grain Train). I teach a high school boys bible study, along with other community bible studies for people of different denominations. We will never mandate morality. Scripture simply tells us to Love the Lord with our whole heart soul and mind and love our neighbor as ourself.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
NO
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
NO
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Neutral
In large schools we have SEO. Smaller schools should have some options, However, until I see the training, I would be hesitant.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Under what circumstances (if any) should schools be allowed to require vaccinations?
There are currently religious exceptions. That is dealing with polio etc. There are consequences if an outbreak occurs, and families have to assume the risk of not attending school if such would occur. I believe this is a parental decision.
