OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Elective abortions should never be allowed.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

There are no circumstances when government should close churches or religious institutions.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. This relationship is likely what allows Israel to continue to exist. It deters aggression and provides stability in the region.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C) Medicare and Medicaid are administratively burdensome and inefficient. The focus of those programs should be towards those with the highest need and exigent circumstances. Routine care and checkups should not be funded by those programs.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Very few circumstances. Governments, schools, and/or employers should never be able to require experimental vaccinations. These organizations should have "conscientious objector" exceptions to their policies.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Minimum wage does not serve to help the economy, inflation, or the worker. Minimum wage jobs are entry level jobs and should not be artificially supported by government policies.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

Choose not to answer

I have not researched that concept at length to make an informed decision, though at initial readings, I would lean to "No".

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

The title 42 requirement for asylum seekers to apply for asylum in the first neighboring country from which they are fleeing worked very well and should continue to be the policy.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Disagree

Private and religious institutions provide a unique voice in our society. This policy would put those institutions under the control of the state government, and risk manipulating those institutions and that voice which rhey bring to our society. The love of money is a source of all kinds of evil. Vouchers and related systems only serve to put the church at risk.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Those people with criminal backgrounds, history of violent behavior, are currently taking antipsychotic or psychotropic medications, and/or have been diagnosed with psychologial disorders (such as borderline personality disorder, psychosis, personality disorders).

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

As long as they are integrated into a district wide safety plan, are trained and verified by law enforcement or equivalently competent third party organiztion. The exact poliies and procedures of which should be left to the individual school boards.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

In the most general terms, to provide security from harm by evildoers, and enable people to live their basic rights of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a born-again Christian. I came to faith through Campus Crusade for Christ at the University of Idaho, and served in Christian Missions with Crusade and My Local Church. I served as an Army Chaplain for 12 year on active duty, and have served as a volunteer and paid pastor in my local church. I believe that the bible is the inerrant Word of God and has been preserved through the faithful work of scholars and believers alike through the centuries. The bible is sufficient for life and godliness, and serves to guide me throughout the course of my life. The Church, in its role as the body of Christ, serves a very important role in declaring the gospel of God's grace to us through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. The real threat is groups which perpetually put race at the forefront of every conflict. The perpetual call to racism only serves to further the political and social divide within our country, and goes against the founders of the civil rights movement in their desire for persons to be viewed equally. As well, it serves as a hinderance to genuine, rational dialogue.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

C) I do value rational, thought out environmental policies which protect our waters, air, and food from pollution. I have been to many countries (India, Ethiopia, Senegal) with very poor environmental laws. The pollution those countires face serve to harm people and reduce their ability to live fruitful lives as God intended for them.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Hydroelectric and Nuclear power are the cleanest and most reliable. Nuclear fuel and waste are a concern that need to be taken seriously, but can serve to meet our demand for energy. Using less electricity, not more, is also another avenue.
