QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
This should be a decision between the woman and her physician
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Agree
I agree with the in person consultation.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Neutral
I am really torn on this, I watched my mother slowly die from dementia and unable to eat for 15 days which was extremely hard on our family. Earlier we had to decide to remove my mother in law from life support machines and that decision was equally difficult.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Disagree
Because someone is less fortunate financially should not prohibit them from these services.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Neutral
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I think we need to gradually raise the minimum wage. Doing it quickly will produce a knee jerk response from employers and the cost of everything will go up to cover the wage increase and we will be no better off than we started.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
Yes
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
I don't know of circumstances which should cause government to close churches.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
This is a blanket statement and I can think of situations where I disagree with this statement.
Should religious schools which accept state funds be allowed to only admit families and students who agree to adhere to their statement of faith?
No
I am against these schools receiving state funds to begin with.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
B
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I can see certain restrictions if a person chooses not to receive a vaccination but to require all folks to receive one might be a stretch.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
I think relationships with all nations are important, Israel is no exception but is not special in my opinion.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Disagree
Vouchers are destroying our public school system. It would be the same thing as asking for your money back that fund police and using it to hire private security. I AM TOTALLY AGAINST VOUCHERS! If a parent chooses to send their child to private school I support that decision- they need to pay for it.
VALUES
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Disagree
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent unless an emergency situation arises risking immediate death.
Disagree
In my 40 plus years in the school system, I have known of parents who physically abused children if they got pregnant or told parents they were having sexual identity issues so I can't agree with this blanket statement.
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Choose not to answer
This question is a trap question. Of course our children are the most vulnerable and must be protected from abuse. However, if they disclose to professionals they have gender issues they are searching for something they haven't been able to get in their home life. This question mixes in several things that are of course harmful to children, but age appropriate information is not harmful.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Neutral
I have close friends who are in same sex unions. I have always believed that we cannot legislate morality. We just make criminals out of good people.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am the son of a Southern Baptist minister. He was very conservative and as the years past I watched him soften his beliefs. I choose to worship is a church without such conservative principles. I am a born again Christian and that love of Christ extends to all people and all people should be free to live as they choose. I would be thrilled if they choose my beliefs and values but they have to make the choices that makes them happy and free. My personal beliefs and values will be my guide but they will not be everyone else's rules or laws.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
Voting absentee by mail ballot should be limited to those meeting at least one of the following criteria: 1) 65 years of age or older on Election Day, 2) sick or disabled, 3) expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day, or 4) confirmed to be absent from the county of registration during voting.
Strongly Disagree
Everyone should have that flexibility.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes, The hate filled rhetoric and "dog whistles" that many public officials use causes unrest and violence. That language is divisive and full of racism.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Neutral
I think because of the use of slaves in our country for over 100 years definitely makes overcoming racism more difficult. CRT has negative connotations but when we had separate water fountains and restrooms for African Americans in my lifetime we have roots of racism.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Choose not to answer
Again you are putting a blanket statement over many different scenarios that I can't answer with one statement. Where should a biological male who has undergone surgical procedures to change their sexual assignment go. We need to consider the safety of male students who have identified as gay in a macho filled boys locker room. This is not an easy question to answer. There are definitely sports where males should not compete against females from a safety standpoint.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Government should serve the people, not punish them. Government should provide leadership, they should plan ahead based on the best information they have at hand. They should provide for the common good of all citizens.

No

No
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Choose not to answer
Under two conditions,1) the police departments are fully funded and 2) with police involvement.
