QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

All. While I personally oppose abortion, I firmly believe that the government should not be involved in this deeply personal decision. Government force is not the best way to prevent abortions. Instead, we should focus on education, support, and creating a society where every life is valued and supported.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Disagree

What a person puts in their body is their own business. Government overreach into personal healthcare decisions is not the answer. While seeing a doctor and voluntarily reporting reactions to chemical abortion drugs is a good practice for ensuring personal safety and improving healthcare, it should not be a state-mandated requirement. I trust individuals to make informed decisions about their own health without unnecessary government intervention.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Agree

I believe people own their bodies, and this includes making a decision on when to end their lives. 'Aid in dying' laws respect personal autonomy and the right to make deeply personal choices. However, we must ensure that we create a system where government officials are not encouraging suicide to save healthcare costs. It is crucial that these decisions are made freely and without undue influence, respecting both personal choice and ethical standards.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Providers. No one should be forced to support organizations like Planned Parenthood through their tax dollars. These organizations should be funded by charging for services and private donations, not government funding. Taxpayer money should be used responsibly, respecting all citizens' beliefs.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are fundamental to a productive economic system. These principles drive innovation, efficiency, and prosperity. By respecting property rights and encouraging entrepreneurship, we create an environment where individuals can thrive and contribute to overall economic growth.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Employees should be free to negotiate their wages with employers. Raising the minimum wage can price teenagers and the unskilled out of jobs. Wages have been rising naturally without increasing the minimum wage, reflecting free market dynamics.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

The government should spend taxpayer money wisely and sparingly, not based on ESG ratings. Investments should focus on efficient use of resources, not on subjective environmental and social criteria.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

The government should not close churches under any circumstances. Religious freedom is a fundamental right that must be protected.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

I believe in freedom of association. Businesses should be able to deny services for any reason, including moral or religious beliefs. Individuals and businesses should have the right to operate according to their principles.

Should religious schools which accept state funds be allowed to only admit families and students who agree to adhere to their statement of faith?

Yes

School choice should not lead to government control of private schools. Religious and private schools must be allowed to set their own standards and admit students according to their statement of faith without discrimination, even when receiving Opportunity Scholarship funds.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

My stance aligns most closely with option D: Taxpayer-funded healthcare should be abolished in all forms, including Medicaid and Medicare. However, I do not support abruptly removing support from those who rely on government healthcare. I advocate for transitioning to a more free-market and charitable healthcare system while ensuring the elderly and poor receive proper care.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

The government should only require vaccinations for government employees and to set standards for government schools. Private schools and employers should set their own standards without government pressure or coercion.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Neutral

The Chinese Communist Party does not pose a significant economic threat to the US, as free trade benefits both nations. However, there are serious concerns regarding cybersecurity and intellectual property. The US should take steps to address these specific threats, particularly in cybersecurity.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The US should maintain a good relationship with Israel. However, the government should not provide aid to Israel or any other country. Private citizens can support charities that aid Israel if they choose to do so.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

I support funding education by allowing dollars to follow the child, giving parents the freedom to choose their child’s school—whether public, private, or homeschool. This should be done without regulations or testing requirements.

VALUES

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

I fully support an individual’s right to choose what they do with their body. However, taxpayer funds should not be used to pay for gender transition services. Individuals who wish to help others with their transition can do so through charities or crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe.

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent unless an emergency situation arises risking immediate death.

Agree

Generally, no healthcare diagnosis or treatment, including mental or reproductive care, should be given to a child without written consent from a parent, except in emergency situations risking immediate death. I recognize there may be cases where a judge needs to make exceptions for the child’s safety.

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Neutral

Children should be protected from abuse and harmful practices. Permanent bodily changes should wait until adulthood. Regarding gender ideology, school choice is crucial so parents can send their children to institutions that align with their values.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

Adults should be free to marry whom they choose and how many people they want. Employers can choose to cover multiple spouses if they wish. The best solution is to get government out of marriage altogether. People can enter into contracts to define their relationships, including handling children and property.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am agnostic, I focus on personal experience and understanding rather than specific doctrines.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

Voting absentee by mail ballot should be limited to those meeting at least one of the following criteria: 1) 65 years of age or older on Election Day, 2) sick or disabled, 3) expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day, or 4) confirmed to be absent from the county of registration during voting.

Agree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism, while harmful to individuals and society, does not pose a significant threat to domestic security as a whole.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Neutral

While most institutions in America operate without regard to race, issues like the war on drugs and failing schools disproportionately affect minorities. These issues highlight areas where reform is needed.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Neutral

Women with male genitalia should not serve in women’s prisons but need protection and should not be in male general population. In sports, biological males should not participate in women’s events, but it should be up to sports organizations, not the government. For other spaces, organizations, not the government, should decide how to handle trans women.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

My views mostly align with C: Stricter environmental laws can undermine U.S. energy independence and deter reliable electricity development. I also support strong property rights; if pollution affects property, energy companies should compensate. Additionally, nuclear energy should be encouraged as a clean and reliable source.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The general purpose of government is to protect individuals and their property. If you are not harming others, stealing, damaging property, or committing fraud, you should be left alone to live your life.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

I am neither a liberal nor a conservative; I’m a Libertarian. I believe in having all your freedoms, all of the time.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Disagree

I support not enforcing victimless crimes. If this results in reduced policing costs, the savings should be returned to taxpayers. However, funds should not be cut if it compromises community safety.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

People should be allowed to own the firearm they believe is best for protecting themselves and their family. I do not support firearm type restrictions. Only minors and criminals who have not completed their sentence, parole, or probation should have their Second Amendment rights restricted.
