QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I am 100% pro-Life and believe life in the womb deserves protection just as life after birth also deserves protection.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Agree

Human embryos should be protected.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I don't believe there are any circumstances where an elective abortion should be allowed. In the case of danger to the life of the mother, try to save both the Mother and the Child. In other cases, adoption or raising the child despite difficult circumstances of the child coming into being, are viable options. Don't punish the innocent child.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

I'm opposed to public funding of Planned Parenthood. I'm also opposed to US Tax dollars being spent through other organizations, including the UN, to fund abortions internationally.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Agree

I belive the executive branch should enforce constitutional laws passed by the legislative branch. The postal service is Constitutionally authorized and was created by Congress. The Comstock Act involves the USPS and should be enforced.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

I believe a free market economy has historically proven to generate the most wealth for the most people. One of the legitimate purposes of government is to protect individual rights to Life, Liberty and to own and control property, which is essential to our free market economic system.

People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.

Strongly Disagree

Wealth redistribution through taxes is unfair and is basically using the government to rob people based on their financial status. I'm opposed to socialism, communism and other schemes that seek to use government power to redistribute wealth.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

Yes, absolutely. Even limiting year over year growth in government spending would substantially help the federal government to live within it's means. If we limited government spending to the Constitutional purpose of the federal government, as enumerated in Article 1 Section 8, we could make even more progress in eliminating the national debt and in naturally growing the prosperity of our citizens.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1. Stop increasing the national debt limit. 2. Stop annual deficit spending & borrowing, where the govt. spends more than it receives. 3. Identify the US Constitutional authorization for each category of spending. Stop funding unconstitutional categories. 4. Stop treating the face value of a silver dollar as the same value as a paper federal reserve note. 5. Re-establish free mintage of refined gold or silver into U.S. Currency and only recognize US Gold & Silver currency as legitimate.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

I don't think the government should force individuals to violate their conscience.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

This phrase isn't found in the Constitution but the 1st ammendment does prevent a government established religion. This isn't a limitation on private religions nor is it a prohibition on discussing religious matters in public venues. The correct meaning of "separation of Church & State" is simply that the federal government can't establish a religion, such as the Church of England for example or a "Church of the US", and then try to compel people to attend that government created religion.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Healthcare is an individual responsiblity, the burden of which has historically been aided by philanthropic organizations, such as church sponsored hospitals, and by voluntary charity. The skyrocketing cost of healthcare directly corresponds to increased government involement, including payments, which risks government control and rationing over individual healthcare decisions. A better course is private and non-profit alternatives, which offer lower costs and higher quality.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

Keeping a government database of individual health records is actually a violation of the privacy protections of the 4th amendment to the Constitution. Such a government database is a bad idea that leads to government abuse and leads to a loss of individual freedom.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

I believe in peace through strength, with restraint. We need a military strong and capable enough to deter aggression but restrained to a primarily defensive role. George Washington warned of "foreign entanglements" and knew the history of Europe was war based on only the monarchs' whim, often for unjust causes. The power to make and declare war is therefore constitutionally vested in Congress, not the President. We need to honor Washington's advice and follow Constitutional limitations.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The openly stated purpose of communism is world domination. We need to defend against it. Communism seeks to destroy our country, these free and United States.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Israel is one of our closest allies and the relationship is important for several reasons. One reason is our shared Christian Judeo beliefs. The plight of the jewish people is biblical, historical, geographic, strategic, current, and relevant. Israel as a country, like our own, isn't perfect. I support Israel and the people of Israel, including the jewish people, who call it their homeland. I support the biblically prescribed boundaries of this Israelite homeland.

Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.

Strongly Agree

Most people don't realize the reality of a movement that embraces violence to enforce its' religious and cultural beliefs on others. I respect the right of muslims to practice their religion non-violently. I don't support the muslim belief and practice , historically and currently, of using violence to enforce their religious beliefs on others. It is the antithesis of the religious freedom our nation was founded upon. I also don't support Sharia law.

IMMIGRATION

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I support legal immigration for those who want to come to the United States to contribute, not to destroy, who come to assimilate not to replace. I support the just enforcement of our immigration laws. I don't support masking public facing federal law enforcement to conceal their identify. That is dangerous to our Constitutional system of self government.

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

I don't support sanctuary city policies.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

There isn't a Constitutional role for the federal government in state and local education. States and localities, not the federal government, should drive education policy within their own jurisdiction. There should be state and local elective controls and accountability for their education policy, such as elected school boards where basically anyone can run to be on the school board. This is part of the "Republican form of government" guarantee found in the U.S. Constitution.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

Foreign governments should not be funding American education, just as they are currently prohibited from funding American political campaigns.

VALUES

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Physically transitioning a child before they're an adult seeks to destroy a key part of who a person is in ways that can be personally devastating & irreversible. This is child abuse and is criminal whether defined as such or not. Socially transitioning a child causes confusion and may have serious negative life altering consequences for the child long term. Transsexual individuals, including transitioned, have one of the highest suicide rates of any group of people. It is tragic.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Yes, I agree with the natural law definition of marriage as between a man and a women and note that governments can't change natural law. You can make the law of gravity illegal, but it will still exist and be in full force. The definition of marriage is the same. One key aspect often missed is that only a man and a woman can naturally conceive a child. This is one reason a legal definition is even necessary. As a society we haven't fully considered the impact of counterfeit marriages.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in God the Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind, meaning of all people. He suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane so any individual can go to Him for forgiveness. I believe all people will be resurrected because Jesus Christ was resurrected. He was "the first fruits of them that slept". We are each a child of God with a Heavenly Father. We are deeply loved by Him (John 3:16) and by Jesus Christ, who "engraved us upon the palms of His hands". I believe in right and wrong. I believe in the 10 commandments, that we should follow them, and that they and all commandments from God are intended to make us happy and to bless us.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I think verifying that people are who they say they are when voting makes a lot of sense. Election integrity is extremely important.

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

I agree that men shouldn't compete in competitive women's sports as a woman, even though they are biologically a man. I believe that gender specific public spaces such as public women's restrooms or locker rooms should be safe for the gender they are intended for, without fear of invasion of their privacy by the biologically opposite gender. Sometimes it seems like as a society we have gone insane. Common sense goes a long ways on issues like this.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Honestly coal is the cheapest & probably the most abundant & reliable energy source. I support all energy sources though, including coal, natural gas, nuclear, solar, disel, geothermal, wind, etc. Wind & solar are useful but not very reliable.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No, I've never been penalized for sexual misconduct.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No, I've never been convicted of a felony.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I am an Independent American. I believe that our U.S. Constitution is divinely inspired & that America is exceptional. We were founded on religious and economic freedom. I'm more in the tradition of our founding fathers than any current political label. The primary goal then and now is to restrain government from encroaching upon individual liberties, while also providing for our common defence from both foreign and domestic enemies who are seeking to destroy our Constitutional Republic.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Agree

Parents primarily have the responsibility but there is a role for government in prosecuting predators. The companies making platforms available to youth also have a responsibility. We have to be careful though not to introduce tyranny in the name of protecting our children. For example, requiring ID to use the internet is both dangerous and damaging to Freedom. We need to be wise and not just sign off on anything put forward in the name of protecting children.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. No restrictions on gun ownership are necessary to protect the public safety. It's a person's intent, not gun ownership, that threatens public safety. Someone with bad intent will find a means to inflict harm. Every individual has a God given right to defend themselves and to defend others. That includes owning the means to ensure that protection. I do believe gun owernship comes with a heavy responsibility though. Gun owners should educate themselves & exercize appropriate gun safety.
