QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

The role of the school should be to provide unbiased education on every option the student/s has regardless of the schools personal bias. The school should also encourage the student/s to communicate with their parents. Lastly, the school should ensure the student/s that they are not alone in this situation.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I feel that it is needed to an extent in order to ensure that students continue receiving the services they need that their families may not be able to attain outside of school. For example, students with disabilities, mental health issues, or academic challenges have greatly benefitted from in school services such as mental health professionals, speech therapists, and school counselors.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Neutral

So long as other services are able to be a resource for students such as life care centers that offer different options for students.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Agree

Children need consistency in order to thrive. Kids need to know what is appropriate and what is not. With that being said, the rules and discipline also need to be consistent and the discipline needs to appropriately match the issue.

Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?

Yes

It is important to have parental involvement within our school system.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Agree

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Disagree

I fear we are over-correcting the problem in many aspects of DEI. In many ways I am only seeing differences being the focus instead of areas of similarity. I think back to when I was in school and we would talk about slavery. Being the only African American in my class everyone would turn around and look at me. It was uncomfortable and reminded me that while my peers were my friends, I was different. I fear we are making many students that fall under DEI category feel the same.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Neutral

As of now this is the main funding fueling special education services which needs to continue.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Social Emotional Learning, Language Arts, American History, Science, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Information Technology, Vocational Learning, Foreign Language, Political Activism, Critical Race Theory, Gender Identity, Sexuality.

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Agree

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

Equality of opportunities

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

A. Opt-In

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My identity is in Christ and my Christian faith is very important to me. I have attended a Baptist church since I was born and enjoy volunteering in many areas there.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Parents should be the responsible party of providing their child/children sexual education. With that being said, unfortunately many parents feel "uncomfortable" or "uneasy" talking about it. As politely as I can put it, your discomfort with providing sexual education to your children may be doing them a disservice. In my opinion, school should absolutely NOT be the place that your child hears about sex for the first time. Consent and their body parts (to add, the correct terminology) should be discussed as soon as possible. I am a firm believer that if you are not happy with how something is done (for example sexual education in schools) and you are fully capable of completing the task, then there should be nothing stopping you from teaching it yourself.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Abstinence, consent, contraceptive methods, human anatomy/the reproductive system, physical and emotional health outcomes, the terminologies of sexual orientation and gender identity, stages of pregnancy and fetal development. I want to reiterate that I am basing this off of a student who has had multiple conversations with their parents and that sexual education has become a normalized topic in their household.

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.

Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Agree

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree
