QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Imminent death of the mother.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Comfort of the dying need protected. My father recently passed in my home from cancer. Those home nurses are awesome.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
The government needs to stop picking winners and losers except that it should always side with families.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
It should only be raised in small increments; business needs to be able to plan ahead. For the most part the minimum wage is for people beginning to work. Better to create a low inflation good for alll the above businesses type of environment.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
Specifically, the laws requiring a person who is in charge of a trust should be required to maximize profits for their shareholders. We need to enforce some of the old time corporate governance. Encourage more derivative lawsuits for managers who seek to invest on these issues.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
When a church has otherwise committed serious crimes. Even then only the bad actors should be brought to justice. I did not and will not obey an order to not meet and fellowship during covid or any future "emergency". The government should have given us the info it thought was important and then let us decide how to proceed. I oppose any future use of powers as happened during covid. And will seek to further strip the governor of such power.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
If you hold a state license you may be duty bound to provide some services. We need to have a discussion about that.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
We have a duty based on prior promises to continue some of this funding. We have paid into this for years. But, the current system is fraught with a lack of competition. I would support limiting liability for doctors setting up private family practices that are independent of large corporate machines. Let us encourage doctors to be doctors in a wholistic way.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
New and untested vaccinations should never be forced on anyone. Conscientious objectors need to be allowed from normal child immunizations. All my kids have their normal child immunizations.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
People in this country should be sitting in jail just on the issue of intellectual property alone.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
It is important. But not so important that you can have my sons to send over there. Isreal is a historical and important friend but we also need to not be so involved with sending bombs to every country to kill the innocent. Washington warned us to stay out of the affairs of Europe. Eisenhower warned us of the military industrial complex. We need to heed both of those warnings.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Send in the troops. Eliminate the cartels for ourselves and Central America. I would support a declaration of war for this today. Let's do it the way our Constitution designed it. For those who have been born here to immigrants let us make sure they have every opportunity to be successful as Americans. Lets pull their married parents into this opportunity. The one thing this country could use is more kids raised with a mom and dad.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
I believe we need a new deal with education. Some kids fail to benefit from a full 12 grade education. After certain proficiencies are proven they should be given a basic high school diploma and a work permit. Students who continue should at the end of their high school years earn an associate's degree or technical certificate. Other countries do this. Those seeking a degree or certificate should be able to take their school money to the institution of their choice.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
People with gender dysphoria should have their hormones checked and treated with hormone therapy per their God given gender. Something is messing with these hormones. Studies show male hormones are seeing drastic decreases.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
All the way until they are 18. Child services should not be able to file a CHINS 6 to get around this.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Amen, if government wanted to do otherwise it should do civil unions. Europe has done this with couples for years. While we are at it lets bring back covenant marriage and consider bringing back common law marriage.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Hear, believe, repent, be baptized, and live a faithful life. I see myself as a member of the non denominational Church of Christ or Church of God.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Our voting system and republic can not survive without one vote per citizen. The idea that this is racist is absurd. All of us are quite capable of securing a state ID.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
The day the electoral college is irrelevant is that day we stop being a United State. It is huge example of the failure of our education system. The electoral college is meant to work just as it does. It is meant to create the issues that it does. It is why we have a Republic and not a democracy. It is how we temper the will of the majority and averice therein against the minority. It gives the country places peace against the city places.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
The current racist DEI being taught in government places like DCS and among the Public Defenders is a racist threat to the future of our Country. It casts judgement upon one race at the expense of another based upon historical references to distant past. It does not consider the merit of the individual.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
It is a communist theory that seeks to promote racism and not merit.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
Unless my wife is taking my young son to the bathroom. The world has become bizarre and irrational.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
I agree mostly with A and C. I believe we should use all energy sources. But we should not waste and should conserve. It is my believe farming is a relatively carbon neutral pursuit. Farmers capture carbon every spring. At the end of the day the question is what is right for the American family. What input will this have on the family budget. I am unconvinced man is destroying the world. When I was a kid people burned wood and coal to heat. Man won't destroy the world.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Coal and nuclear.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
NO
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To secure justice. To be the instrument that delivers an eye for an eye. As citizens we give this right of an eye for an eye to the government. It you kill my innocent child you should die by my hand. But I have given this duty to the government. Government is failing victims. Government is to also and equally protect the rights of the people. We need to advance the bill of rights to create more and renewed protections in the digital age.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None. I do believe the idea of a militia as is found in our Indiana constitution needs to be brought back and educated upon. What happened in Ukraine with men being called upon to defend the state is also the design of the Indiana Constitution. People need to understand the responsibility that comes with carrying and owning a firearm. A person of militia age should be required to have a firearm and the ammunition necessary to defend the state or their home.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
After proper training and psychological examination.
