QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

After 15 weeks, abortions should be restricted to cases in which the baby is terminally ill or the pregnancy concretely threatens the mother's life and there is no way to viably deliver a premature baby. In such post-15-week scenarios when abortions must take place, abortion should be treated the same way adult euthenasia is treated: The baby should be sedated and given pain medication to ensure a painless death (which is NOT standard today). See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIhHqHzhsGI

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Disagree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Agree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

While governments should have the right to close churches that are actively breaking local laws (i.e. a government cannot abide by a church that decides to kidnap people and perform human sacrifices on its premises), I question governments' rights to to close churches on the grounds that there is a pandemic going on.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

We have an abundant enough economy whereby people will be able to find alternate vendors/suppliers/providers if a religious company owner is not comfortable catering to them on religious grounds.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Israel is a key ally in a largely hostile region.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. (But more broadly, I am in favor of solutions that minimize bureaucracy, complication, layers of expense and management, and waste.)

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Privately held companies should be allowed to require vaccinations at the disrection of their leadership. (Imagine if an organization that employed scientists who were regularly exposed to rabbid animals or bats could not require rabies vaccines)

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Raising the minimum wage will often disincentivize employers from hiring more people, so when we discuss making changes on this front, we must consider the tradeoffs.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

While I am not against immigration, it should be something we control and manage, not something that happens without our oversight, knowledge, and approval.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Disagree

Community programs are great, but we need sufficiently funded police departments in order to ensure public safety.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I favor minimal restrictions but a culture in which we promote gun safety and empower citizens to safely own, use, store, and maintain firearms.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

In addition to protecting citizens from external threats and internal conflicts, fostering economic stability, and providing some social services, a fundamental aspect of government, especially in democratic societies, is the protection of individual rights and liberties.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

My views are expressed very transparently and in great detail on our YouTube channel (just search keywords of issues that matter to you, such as religion, economics, abortion, business, etc.): https://www.youtube.com/@SimoneandMalcolm

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Neutral

We should be careful about the word "protected" here. If "protected" means "the state should have the right to remove children from their families if those families deviate from mainstream social norms" then I cannot support this stance. What is considered to be good by one culture is often considered to be abusive by other cultures. It is wrong to impose your own cultural values on other groups (especially on a governmental level).

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Disagree

Marriage as a god-ordained union is a religious matter ONLY to be managed and validated by one's chosen religion. Marriage as a legal union is to be managed by the government and should be unmoored from religious standards.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Techno-Puritan (this is, broadly, an Abrahamic religion). See: https://technopuritan.com/

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Agree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism and all forms of bias and discontent are a threat to domestic security, but they're also a somewhat inevitable human phenomena. Should we combat them? Yes.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

Climate change is real and policy action is absolutely needed, however environmental regulation on behalf of governments DOES NOT ALWAYS HELP and sometimes has adverse effects. We should absolutely consider laws and regulations related to the environment, sustainability, and climate change, but avoid over-complicating things and contributing to bureaucratic bloat, waste, and complications that gridlock progress.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear power.
