QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Human life begins at conception; this is scientific fact. Doctors and mothers should be free to make decisions regarding the health of the mother. Separately, doctors and parents should be free to make decisions about healthcare of the developing baby. Electively ending the life of the developing baby is not healthcare and should never be allowed. Healthcare for the mother pertaining to miscarriages and still births should never be confused with or commingled with abortion laws.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Choose not to answer

Chemical abortion drugs are not a moral form of birth control because they end the life of a unique human being. I cannot support them, regardless of standards, because ending the life of a developing human denies a fundamental right to life.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

There should be no “abortion providers.” Doctors offices, hospitals, and clinics are well-equipped to provide healthcare to pregnant mothers and babies. Any procedures needed for the benefit of the mother or child should occur in those settings.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Wages should be determined by the market in a free economy.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

ESG allows subjective and changing opinions and interests into decisions that should be objective and quantitative. Public monies should generally not be involved in private investments, but to the extent private enterprises participate in public services, they should be evaluated for the quality and integrity of their products and services to benefit the people.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

My views fall between options C and D. Government-funded healthcare has become essential to many families, but the dependence on government for healthcare is a slow walk to socialism, and a heavy burden on the taxpayer. We need to encourage less government-funded healthcare and more non-profit cost-sharing programs and private competition for insurance options.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, the US-Israel relationship is strong. We spend over $2 billion in military financing, participate in joint military exercises, and partner in weapons R&D. Israel is a partner in our fight against terrorism, and one of our largest single trading partners. Indiana is specifically interested in three of the top five trades: defense contracts, agriculture products, and pharmaceuticals. We intend to advance Indiana's interest in these areas in joint pursuit to uphold freedom and free enterprise.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

The US should physically secure ALL of its borders at all times to ensure only lawful entry.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

However, homeschooling parents should not be required to accept government funding.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. I believe that God so loved the world He gave His only son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. I believe in the virgin birth. I believe we have life in the resurrected Jesus, covered in His righteousness and filled with His Spirit. I believe the Church has gifts and is to operate in those gifts, stirring one another up toward love and good works, and all the more as we await His return! I believe we are called to overcome evil with good. We are to be a city on a hill, our light should not be hidden. Instead, we should lead with truth, full of wisdom and love, that our country might see our good works and praise our father in heaven.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. We are one race, the human race, created in the image of God. Threats to our domestic security come from those who hate the fundamental ideals of our nation, which are based on the equality of all citizens. As a nation, we are ethnically diverse, but our collective strength comes from the factors that unite us, liberty and justice for all. Ethnic and physical differences should not be used as a weapon to divide Americans.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

A, C. God has appointed us as stewards over His land. We should be good stewards of that land in a way that benefits the people and gives Him glory. Our free market economy will settle that need for balance without government overreach. Climate change has existed since the creation of the Earth, and it is folly to believe that our government policy will override the nature that God has set.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

I believe Indiana is well-positioned to become a leader in Nuclear energy generation. I support the use of domestic natural resources that have stood the test of time – coal, oil, and natural gas. We should strive for continuous energy independence.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The government should serve the people without infringing on their liberties.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I believe that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. This is necessary to the security of a free State. I believe that threats of violence should be swiftly addressed and that those with a history of mental illness or violent offense forfeit their right.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

We must protect our children at school. Time is of the essence when responding to a school threat. I support the on-site presence of armed security at public and private schools. Depending on the resources of a community, that security could be Law Enforcement and/or law-abiding teachers who are well-trained in firearm safety, have demonstrated a proficiency with a firearm, and have agreed to be appointed as armed security resources.
