QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I am staunchly pro-life, but also believe that my role as state Representative would be to represent the interests of the people, not solely my own. In cases of severe risk or trauma to the mother, I believe that women should be able to act in their best interest, but in no way should tax dollars or public resources be allocated to abortion.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution establishes the freedom of religion. Article I of the PA Constitution establishes that “no preference shall ever be given by law to any religious establishments or modes of worship”. Under both the federal and state government, churches have a right to free exercise and government thus should have no right to close churches unless a church advocates for and acts upon violence.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Our relationship with Israel is incredibly important as they are a great ally of the United States. However, as a candidate for state Representative, my first priority is the people of Pennsylvania, especially my district - not foreign policy - which is dictated by the federal government, not the Commonwealth.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Option C. The availability of public healthcare insurance drives higher costs because companies know the government will pay. Private healthcare leads to more responsible spending as the people are spending their own money; leading companies to compete by reducing the inflated profit margins that become possible when the government spends the people’s money.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
True healthcare should always be a personal choice. Liberty over mandates.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Raising the minimum wage in turn raises the minimum costs of production; creating a vicious cycle of rising prices, negating the effect of higher wages. Minimum wage jobs should be encouraged to our youth to learn the value of work and build skills.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
The U.S. should do more to physically secure all borders. The federal government exists to support and protect the people and states of America first and foremost. If it cannot do that, it is failing and must focus on its own territory before that of foreign nations.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Agree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Disagree
Our police departments serve us each and every day. Funding is necessary to protect our communities and it should not be taken away from them.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, as the Second Amendment states. Every single law-abiding citizen should have the right to purchase, own, and bear firearms.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
Teachers who have taken firearm training and want to protect their students with a firearm should absolutely be allowed to protect their students.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
I believe that the general purpose of government is to protect the God-given liberties and rights of the people. President Thomas Jefferson once said that “The course of history shows us that as a government grows, liberty decreases. The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first”. Government should exist to protect liberty and not much more.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
My views are very conservative, my philosophy is libertarian. I believe that we as a people have a right to make our own choices; I recognize that sometimes those choices do not align with my own views, and that is what makes our nation great. As state Representative, my choices will rely on and reflect the people of my district and their interests more than my own personal views and interest because that is what a Representative should do - represent the people in their care.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
The Lord is my shepherd. By His grace, I walk this earth. Through His grace, I hope to serve the people around me. That I may fight for a better tomorrow in which no government threatens to take any of our God-given liberties, and in which every man, woman, and child may feel His grace and walk with Him on Earth and in Heaven. The Lord has put us here for a reason: by walking with Him, following His commandments, and atoning for our sins, He works through us. I believe my reason is to serve the people around me, and if He so desires, thus may it be.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
The right to vote is one of our most important, as such, it should be protected from abuse. Photo identification is one of many measures that can help regain trust in our elections, and regardless of if there is a problem with elections or not, the people should be able to trust in the system by which they choose their government.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College was designed so that states with large populations, especially large cities, do not hold all of the power. Every state has its own needs and therefore the Electoral College is essential in making sure that the needs and views of 40 states are not drowned out by 10 states.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Continuing to talk about race and bringing it into the spotlight of all discussions keeps the flame of racism alive, which could create a threat to our security. However, if we stop talking about race, and start looking at each other as American first and foremost - not white American, black American, Asian-American, but just American, we will be united by our nationality, not divided by our ethnicity. I don’t believe it to currently be a threat, but I do believe it could be under liberalism.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
Males and females are biologically different - that is a fact. It is delusional to believe otherwise. Allowing men to compete in women’s sports is simply a way for failed men’s athletes to become top women’s athletes and is unfair to our women. Further, biological men and biological women should not be sharing private spaces in public areas, or we are subjecting our women to uncomfortable situations and potential dangers. The comfort of the many should not be violated for the feelings of a few.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
I believe that stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs, hurt the economy, and undermine our energy independence. While some laws and regulations may protect our environment by keeping rivers and air clean, aggressive laws and regulations put us at the mercy of foreign powers and destroy American jobs.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
The most reliable energy source is that which is the most efficient and available; depending on the region in which you live, the cost of production, and the opinions of the people. In this role, my opinion does not matter as much as the peoples’.
