RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Neutral

While I want to agree with this statement, I'm aware that the way that I define protection and the contemporary political definition are very different things. If by protection we meant 'measures taken by all means necessary to see that that life is worth living,' then I'm all in. If instead we mean 'mandate that all children be born regardless of their condition and circumstances,' then NO. Also, the 'pro-life' crowd typically doesn't care what happens at all after the person is born.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Disagree

There are too many things that can happen, especially in cases where multiple embryos are made so that people can have a single child. Mandatory preservation can pave the way to backlogs of unclaimed embryos years down the line that can be used for all sorts of horrible purposes. In a world this full, I don't see any reason to force things to exist.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

That is no one's business but the person going through it. The purpose of government is not to legislate religious belief or morality, nor should it ever be. Who am I to say what causes people to go there? Who am I to draw the lines in lives I will not have to live?

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Neutral

That is a matter for the people in the areas of the individual providers to decide. Even federal funds are disbursed in a toxically non-democratic fashion, and they are issues that each locality should decide among the people who live there. I'm not interested in preventing Alabama from being Alabama, but I am interested in preventing Alabama from trying to change how we do things here in Colorado.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Neutral

In the most straightforward terms, if a law is on the books... The question here is more about whether or not the law should remain in existence. For any state where abortion is legal, the people have a right to do so by any means provided. States where it is not have no right to attempt to stop that.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

Within reason, this is true. At the same time, we have developed a system where a small club of people has become completely malignant. In the United States today, the only way to make a lot of money is to have a lot of money already. This is morally abhorrent. Our species stands on the verge of extinction because of the influence of people who have already taken too much but desire to take even more.

People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.

Agree

Those who have reaped the greatest benefits of any system have the greatest responsibility to keep it going. It is completely abominable to watch the ultra wealthy spend the government broke into their own pockets while talking about 'fiscal responsibility.'

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Agree

We spend way too much attempting to uphold a global empire that in crumbling before our eyes. At the same time, we dump mountains of cash into the pockets of those who already have more than anyone could reasonably use in 100 lifetimes. This must stop.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1. End our overseas military empire. 2. Stop subsidizing companies that are already obscenely profitable. 3. Ban lobbying and make any attempt a felony. 4. Ban the receipt of gifts by elected or appointed officials and make it a felony.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Neutral

I think it comes down to what those services are. If a private water utility wants to withhold service from someone they religiously disagree with, that should not be allowed. At the same time, when it comes to things that are truly unnecessary, that should really come down to both the client and the business. No one should attempt to force someone to do business with someone who hates them, and most "religious reservations" are really just hate cloaked in "morality."

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Religion has no place in government at all. The role of government is something completely removed from the world of religion. There is never a case when it is ok to legislate belief.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B all the way. Our current private insurance system is a complete scam. We all pay premiums to have our claims denied so that a privileged few can use the money we chip in to take care of everything. This is completely wrong. It is perfectly reasonable to establish a federal program where premiums cover care and operating expenses without a profit motive. We can leave the private stuff in place, and when they realize we're not footing the bill for them anymore, those systems will implode.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

Wow. It sure takes a disgusting mind to think like that.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

D. War is stupid and obsolete. Peace will never be attained through murder, and whoever thinks it will is a fool. Coercion only produces resistance, and the world is waaaay too full to create any more of that. You can not do something anywhere in the world without there being consequences here at home. The world is full, the weapons are powerful, and this is getting too dangerous. If we keep this up, we will all die. No one will be spared.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Right now, for a lot of us here in the USA, the only reason we can afford anything is because of China. Go through all your stuff, and look what they do for the world. Anyone who asserts that there is a threat knows nothing of Chinese history or philosophy. They are superimposing the ambitions of greedy westerners on a civilization they do not understand. China is ready to do peaceful business, and China will play a major role shaping the future.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

It is a toxic burden. Imagine if the UN decided the Romans had a "right to return" to Transalpine Gaul, and so they armed all the Italians from Brooklyn and supported their expulsion and extermination of the French. Sounds ridiculous, right? The modern state of Israel isn't much different than that. The only thing that propping them up is doing is making us evil. Using the term "settlers" to describe the annexation of the West Bank is deplorable at best. Supporting genocide in Gaza...?

Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.

Disagree

The grievances are simple: Get out of the Middle East. Stop trying to rule the world. Stop funding apartheid and genocide. The Islamic world is not a den of trolls and goblins. It is the same world we live in. The people want the same things: Love, peace, and prosperity. The west has been interfering with the affairs of that region for way too long. Think about it like this: Would goat herders in Afghanistan even know what a United States is if we weren't meddling there?

IMMIGRATION

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Ultimately, it should be as easy to move from here to China as it is to move across town, and vice versa. There is no 'us' and 'them' here. That sort of thinking is the height of folly. If we do not come to understand the universal brotherhood of humanity, we will all die. Time is running out. If we mess this up, rest assured that it will hurt very bad and that death will be the only mercy any of us know.

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Neutral

That is entirely the choice of the municipality. If people are working together toward the project of the perfection of humanity, who cares where they were born?

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Disagree

WOO! Could you imagine that? We already have people who believe the Earth is 6,000 years old until we start talking about topics like climate change. Then all of a sudden there are cycles that take millions of years! Having a national standard for education means we have a commonly held reality to live in. As of now, people can opt out, but the default education that is available is at least decent. Some of our more backward places would be quite dangerous without standard education.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

They should also be prevented from funding our politicians. Lookin' at you, AIPAC.

VALUES

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Agree

We have age of consent laws for a reason. Children are not yet equipped to make decisions about sexuality. It's not for kids.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

That is ridiculous. Look at Trump's 'marriages'. Is that what a "God-ordained" relationship looks like? Give me a break. Marriage is a contract that some people choose to enter into. I don't even know why we have monogamy baked into the law. Look back at our current president and any number of our elected officials, both past and present. We live in the real world even if some people choose not to believe it. Maybe we should have real world standards.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

God is absolutely real in so far as it can be. Our sole purpose is to love, and to do so universally. Every man is my brother, every woman my sister, and everything in between is equally my family. Every flag has become a banner of death. Killers mistake influence for power, but they will not escape the consequences of their actions. If we don't get this right, we will all die. The day of judgement is real. It means this: One day the last human from earth will die. The verdict is this: "Well, that was your fatal mistake." There are those who wish to bring judgement upon us now. They, too, will die. For the purely secular mind, think of it like this: Consciousness is clearly an attribute of matter. We can verify this because here we are

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

Kinda funny how you don't need photo ID to be shot or imprisoned. Things that make you go, "Hmmm."

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Agree

Honestly, I don't care about the sports thing at all. "Give them bread and circuses." Still, when I was 15, if someone told me all I had to do to shower with the girls was say I was a girl, I would have dressed out for gym class a lot more often. No matter how many truly transgendered people there are, perverts and weirdos will exploit openings wherever they are left. If anything, we could add a third bathroom type or something, but we should not leave certain doors open.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

The sun. There are a lot of ways to harness its energy, from solar, wind, tidal generators, etc. My home generates enough electricity for my whole block. Given the right incentives, we all could.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

no

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

no

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

The terms "liberal" and "conservative" are completely obsolete. We all see that they are both failures. It is nothing more than a game of divide and conquer owned by the oh-so-very rich. Are we really so unimaginative? The stakes are too high to keep falling for this crap. If we don't get this right, we will all die. It will hurt.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Agree

Obviously, parents have to meet it halfway. If you're not paying attention to your kids, don't blame the government entirely when something goes wrong.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Absolutely none. It's way too late for any of that. I used to work at a sheriff's department, and you should see the evidence room. Wow. If the gangsters can have it, you ought to be able to, too. Seriously, if you'd seen what I've seen, you'd know it's true.
