QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
As a Christ Follower and as an adoption and probate attorney, I fight and stand up for the rights of the unborn, the fatherless, children and adults in need of permanency, the daily, business, and estate needs of children and adults, and the support, care, and maintenance of senior adults, incapacitated children and adults, and the terminally ill every day.
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
“The school” should not have any involvement with a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy, but counselors, teachers, and administrators from “the school”, as long as it is allowed by Alabama law, should engage the parents and guardians of these students to help. In addition, school counselors and administrators can help students and parents and guardians be aware of birthparent parenting classes as well as of pro-life organizations that can help with the placement of children, if parenting by the students is not an option.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.
Strongly Disagree
The Ten Commandments can and should be displayed in public places.
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Strongly Agree
If matters of conscience and faith are discussed, Christianity should not be excluded.
Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
The moral and religious beliefs of teachers have to be taken into consideration with the presentation of different topics. If these moral beliefs are not very moral, then a consideration of such may not be beneficial to students and teaching as well, Teachers should be able to share with administrators about any conflicts between the moral and religious beliefs of the teacher and the topics at issue with the curriculum.
NATIONAL SECURITY
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Absolutely it is. Israel is the people of God and will have the favor of God, the United States should not be in opposition to the people of God. The US should assist with the defense of Israel when called upon so as to keep favor with God as well.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
A strong military, particularly a strong US military, is crucial to peace within our borders as well as to peace across the world. Troubles, attacks, battles, and wars will arise, we must make sure that we have answers for the troubles and attacks and protect our citizens and interests of the United States. Further, our strong military acts as a deterrent to the bad acts of organizations who intend harm to our country as well as our allies.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Limited government involvement in the economy and encouraging everyone to work for their support do not support the idea of government ensuring everyone has a livable income.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Government funding of public education can occur in the different levels of school matriculation, but it should not be required in every level, such as with college studies. Parents should have some choice as to where their students attend school and whether public funding is used in the education of their students.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
I prefer that control of education policy should rest with the states. The US Department of Education does not have to be eliminated if it served to conduct research on substantive courses and provided that information apolitically, not serving as a liberal political agency.
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Agree
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
(A) Opt-In
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
Language Arts Mathematics Science American History Civics Vocational Learning Information Technology Art & Music Personal Finances Physical Fitness Foreign Language
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Agree
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Under what circumstances (if any) should schools be allowed to require vaccinations?
