As a physician I am hard-wired morally, ethically, and professionally to protect life. It's not a political position, it's who I've been in the exam room at the bedside as a primary care physician for over 30 years. I'm also a medical ethicist, and ethics teaches you the difference between conviction you hold and a conviction you impose. The Court got Dobbs right.

I am a physician and medical ethicist. I don't believe human embryos should be created in a laboratory for the purpose of being destroyed - including research embryo creation and cloning. That conviction predates my candidacy. It is not a position against IVF. IVF is families working to have children, and I support it. I would not put government between a couple and a pregnancy.

As a physician, I don't regard elective abortion as morally neutral, and I've never pretended otherwise. Where I'd draw teh line personally is not the same as what I'd support by federal law -- that the ethics i opened with. Dobbs returned this to the people, and Arizona's voters have answered. Rape, incest, and the life of the mother must always be protected, and I will never support criminalizing a mother.

No taxpayer dollars should subsidize abortion providers. But no woman should lose care either - Arizona's federally qualified health centers and community clinics vastly outnumber Planned Parenthood locations and provide the same screenings, contraception and primary care. Redirect money there. As a phsycian, my concern is that women keep a doctor, not that a particular organization keeps a contract.

I don't support governing by 1873 statute - the same reason I've said I don't support Arizona's 1864 law as written. Dobbs returned this question to the people, and reviving a Reconstruction-era law to impose a national rule takes it right back from them. As a physician I'd add that these same medications are standard treatment for miscarriage. If Congress wants a national policy, it should pass one and answer for it.

We need a broad-based flat tax that lets everyone keep more of what they earn, rather than raising rates on higher earners to fund relief elsewhere. Working-family relief is a byproduct of growth and lower taxes for everyone, not redistribution.

For over 25 years I've run a small business with around 18 employees. Every year I reconcile the budget, pay my bills, pay my taxes - and pay myself last. Washington has never been asked to that once. And as a physician I've watched federal health dollars disappear into fraud while my patients waited. I won't pretend waste alone closes a debt this size - it takes growth and real restraint. But a government that can't account for what it already spends has not business asking for more.

Audit federal agencies and eliminate duplicative or outdated programs rather than growing the bureaucracy every year. Reform how federal health and social spending dollars are used — target root causes instead of open-ended subsidization. Shrink and simplify the IRS by moving to a flat tax, cutting the enforcement bureaucracy needed to administer a complex code.

I've spent my life defending religious freedom — as a physician, as the founder of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, and as a U.S. Senate appointee to the Commission on International Religious Freedom, where I fought for persecuted believers and non-believers around the world who don't have the protections we do here. That conviction doesn't stop at our border. Government shouldn't have the power to force any American to act against their sincerely held moral or religious convictions.

Separation of church and state means government doesn't get to adopt any religion's doctrine as the law of the land — it doesn't mean government gets to push faith out of public life or force people of faith to check their conscience at the door. The state stays neutral and doesn't establish a religion; it doesn't mean the state gets to be hostile to religion or coerce people out of living their faith, whether in their business, their family, or their community.

C - Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.

This is exactly the kind of government overreach into our private medical decisions that I've fought against — I saw during the pandemic how quickly "public health" justifications can be used to strip away individuals' rights and privacy over their own health information. Your medical history is between you and your doctor, not a line item for the government to track and manage.

B - The US should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. --But this is not about military intervention. It is about giving liberty an equal playing field against enemies who are actively exporting autocratic, theocratic, fascist, and socialist movements that violate universal human rights. Competing in the global marketplace of ideas doesn't obligate force. I've done this work for 25 years against Islamism - and as a Navy officer I learned how to avoid wars.

The CCP is an enemy of the United States that wants our destruction, plain and simple. Our open-door policy with China — pushed first by Nixon, then accelerated by Clinton — was a profound miscalculation; engagement changed us more than it changed them. We need to reclaim the moral authority of capitalism, sever our economic dependence on the CCP, stand clearly with Taiwan, and counter their information operations against our own citizens.

Yes — unequivocally. Israel is our strongest ally in the Middle East — the region's only real democracy, and our frontline partner against Iran, Hamas, and the terror network Iran bankrolls. That alliance keeps America safer. It's not something to hedge on or take for granted. I will never stop standing with Israel, period.

This is the fight I've built my public life around. I've testified before Congress repeatedly on Islamist radicalization, and helped shape the narrative in the West that the root cause is 'Islamism'- political Islam. I've led movements against 'establishment' - global "Big" Islam. I've called for deeply needed reforms against the theological obstacles inspiring Islamist supremacism. And I co-direct the largest most diverse coalition in the Western hemisphere against Islamism - CLARITy Coalition.

I'm the son of immigrants who fled a dictatorship in Syria — I know exactly what this country offers to people willing to come here the right way. Legal immigration makes America stronger. But you knock before you come in. Secure the border first, vet people rigorously and expect immigrants to embrace the Constitution, our founding principles and our social contract, that make this country worth coming to.

Sanctuary cities put politics ahead of the rule of law and public safety. If we don't enforce our own immigration laws, we don't have a border and we put our citizens and our values at risk.

I'm a pragmatist, not a slogan-chaser. Public education is here to stay, so let's reform it instead of pretending it disappears overnight. What I do believe: the less federal control, the better. States and local communities know their kids, Washington doesn't. I'll use the leverage we have, the federal dollars we send to states, to stop attaching them to woke mandates and instead demand real academic standards and school choice. Parents should be deciding what's best for their kids.

I've spent my career sounding the alarm on the Chinese Communist Party's influence operations against American citizens and institutions, our classrooms shouldn't be an exception. Hostile foreign governments have no business bankrolling American schools or universities.

As a physician and an ethicist, my standard is the one I've used for 30 years: no irreversible intervention on a patient who cannot give informed consent. Puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgery don't belong anywhere near a child who can't legally consent to much of anything else. A distressed child deserves real mental health care and a family that isn't cut out of the decision -- not a permanent decision made before they're old enough to make it.

I hold marriage as sacred - that is my faith and my family. But I've spent 25 years and more arguing that no religious authority, including my own should write civil law by decree. That's the same line between conviction and imposition I drew on Dobbs. The civil question has been settled by the Court and by Congress. What i will defend without apology is religious liberty - no clergy, congregation, or believer should ever be compelled to violate conscience.

I am a devout Muslim and my faith in God is the central part of who I am. That is mine to live not to legislate. My family fled Syria, where the state told people how to believe. In America I could love God more freely than they ever could. That is why I've spent 25 years arguing for the separation of mosque and state- and why Islamists have threatened me for saying every person answers to God directly, freely - not through a clerical authority. Liberty is God-given, not government-given; my own faith and the founders agree. I've prayed alongside Christians and Jews and stood with people of all faiths or no faith my entire life. We differ on theology. We are allies on what matters most: America- a nation under God where conscience is free.

Photo ID is required to board a plane, see a doctor, or pick up a prescription. Requiring it to vote is common sense, and Arizona voters have said so repeatedly at the ballot box. My family came from a country where elections were theater — I take the integrity of ours seriously. Make ID free and easy to obtain; then require it. That protects both halves of the promise: every eligible citizen votes, and every legitimate vote counts.

As a physician, biology is not a belief system- it is the basis of how I treat every patient. Our daughters deserve fair competition and privacy in the places where they are most vulnerable. This isn't about disliking anyone; it's about not asking women and girls to give up what was won for them. Allowing biological males to participate in women's sports is simply irrational and unethical.

America needs an all-of-the-above energy strategy, but if I had to name the most reliable baseload source, it's nuclear — it's clean, it's proven, and it doesn't leave the grid exposed the way intermittent sources do.

Lean Conservative

My views lean conservative on most issues, but I've never been a rubber stamp for any party. I've spent two decades standing up to extremism inside my own community and religion, even when it cost me personally. I'll bring that same reasoned, ethical, independent voice to Congress instead of just toeing a party line.

Protecting kids from predators online is a basic government responsibility, not a partisan issue.

The 2nd Amendment is a right, not a privilege, and I don't support new restrictions on law-abiding citizens. We already have extensive laws on the books — the failures have been in enforcement and in the systems that were supposed to flag dangerous people and didn't. As a physician, I'd rather treat the actual causes: untreated mental illness, fentanyl (drug abuse), and repeat violent offenders who get released. Disarming the law-abiding does nothing about any of them.
