RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

If a pregnancy is the result of rape or incest. If the pregnancy is detrimental to the life of the mother. If the pregnancy is non-viable. These protections must always be upheld regardless of political talking points. I have also advocated for the two parties to compromise and to legislate a national 2-3 month ban. This would allow time for families to discuss their needs, and ensure that we are not allowing late term abortion in the U.S.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Neutral

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Choose not to answer

These clinics offer resources to people in areas that are often lacking resources and that are financially struggling. I believe that any branch that decides to prefrom the procedures, should not do so with tax payer dollars. There are other services that I believe should be available and continue.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Times are tough and the cost of living is ever growing. I believe we need to be realistic and pay people a livable wage to match today's costs. Do I think fast food workers need 30 bucks an hour? No. Do I think they deserve a decent wage? Yes.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Never. If an exception is made for one, it sets a precedent for all. We must never erode the right to religious freedom, and the right to assemble.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C) there are too many in this country who genuinely need help. I believe as a prosperous nation, we should be taking care of our most at need. Models like Obama care have shown us that, in an effort to inject equity into health care, it did not result in equality. The private sector can do it better.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Schools have been requiring vaccines for decades, and that should be a local discussion. The government has no business mandating anything to citizens, which means it can not dictate what private businesses decide to do either.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

China is one of, if not the biggest threat to our nation at this moment.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Our relationship with Israel is paramount. Having a friend and ally in the middle east like Israel is of the utmost importance to the United States national security, as well as the security of every ally in the region. On every level, whether it be humanitarian or militarily, we must support Israel.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

There are no exceptions, and it is not political. As a nation, we have an obligation to keep our own citizens safe and our resources protected. We also must enforce good policies to ensure the safety of those who we do encounter at our borders.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Agree

I have been faced with this decision as a father. I agree, if a district is failing a child, or does not meet the needs or values of a family, they should have that freedom. What I do not agree with, is leaving other students, who may not have the option to go to a better district, in a failing school with no recourse from the state. It is the state's obligation to ensure all of our schools are successful. If a district is failing, then we must know why, and address it.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Agree

We must ensure that medical procedures and political ideology do not do harm to minors. We can not be in the business of deciding what families decide is acceptable in their household and what isn't.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage in this country is a right and freedom. The government has no business in this conversation, other than to issue marriage licenses. What I believe, in no way pertains to the rights and private decisions of two consenting adults.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a non denominational Christian. I believe my faith teaches me that I am to treat every human, no matter their background with understanding, kindness and love. It teaches me to stand up for those with no voice, and to stand for what is right and just, even if it means standing alone. It means being a good shepherd of people, and living a life in service to others.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racial tension perpetuated by extreme political leaders on the left threatens domestic security. In my life, I have seen Americans live in peace. Only when our political leaders fan the flames of divison, in order to gain votes, do we see things like racial divison hit the headlines. Americans have decided long ago that racism will not be tolerated in this country. We are not a racist nation.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

The United States does more than many nations when it comes to our carbon foot print. We must not shackle American energy independence for debunked climate theory. Preserving our environment should always be a top priority, and good conservation can be, and is often funded by our energy industry. We can be dominant in oil and natural gas, while still doing our part to protect our most precious asset, our planet. Protect our wildlife, plant trees, and drill for oil!

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Natural gas is the cleanest and most dependable form.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The purpose of government is to serve it's people. Keep residents safe, keep roads clean and paved, maintain strong infrastructure, keep schools successful etc. To often, we allow government to become mired down in culture war, and hot button politics. (which is why money is wasted, nothing gets done, and the same individuals continue to get elected)

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I am pro second ammendment, and believe there are enough laws on the books already. We only need to enforce them in a smart way, rather than trying to create more.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

I believe that if a local district decides to allow their staff to do so, then they should be allowed. I also believe it should be an obligation of the state to ensure that every district has funding for resource officers. The govenor of our state proposed this idea in his budget, and it was removed by our legislature, which was a mistake in my opinion.
