What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I would love to see not only more funding for the current public school grades but also expanded funding for Pre-K and College. I personally think that our school system is a bit outdated and would love to see some updating of different aspects. However, I also like to hear from people working on the ground day-to-day to really know what's going on and get feedback on what works and what doesn't.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

EDUCATION
Abortion and gender transitioning providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
Discipline is an essential part of learning and one of the key ways for parents to take part in their child's learning experience. Teachers and school staff must be able to keep order and direct many children quickly. There are already many time constraints on schools disciplining children should not be adding to that. There should be a standardized system involving the parents after a certain point. If they continue to not be addressed the parent should be held accountable.
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?
Yes
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Choose not to answer
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My dad took me to church until I was in my teens. I personally never liked the spiritual aspect of church, although I did love the community aspect of it. Everyone always felt like they were my friend and were willing to help when we were going through hard times. I have not attended church in about 20 years and don't plan on going anytime soon, other than to donate. I think churches serve an amazing purpose in bringing together the community and helping many people find what they need in life. I value hard work and community above all else. I teach my kids these values every day in how I work and how I show them to treat their fellow humans. I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.
Neutral
Unfortunately, being a cis male, it's truly hard for me to come up with a great answer for this. I do want to provide children with their human right to be happy and free in the body that they want, but at the same time, we need to keep in mind that a child is a young, undeveloped mind. It needs time to be nurtured and grow, and they may change their ideals as they grow older. A large change such as gender change surgery could be life-altering in a good or bad way, depending.
If sexual education is taught in schools, what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Kids are not only being introduced to romance and sex at younger and younger ages, thanks to the internet, but they also seem to be receiving less and less instruction about these topics. We should expand the classes. Perhaps we could have a younger-aged class that talks more about social-emotional relationships and what those might mean, and use that to lead into a more serious conversation about love and sex later on.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.
